WORKSHOP N°1: MAINTENANCE OF THE WIND FIELDS

WORKSHOP N°3: R&D, NEEDS OF THE INDUSTRIALS The wind power industrials face major challenges regarding R&D. Manufacturing and installation cost reduction are particularly key issues, while grid integration or installation of large turbines into complex environments get more technical. To answer these challenges, academics gather their ressources to support the industrials.

Frédéric HENDRICK, Vice-president Alstom Off-Shore Wind, President of the SER wind industry cluster

Facilitator: Brayima DAKYO, President of the Commission R&D & Expertise at CEVEO Intervenants: FREYSSINET / INSA ROUEN : Project EOLIFT, Concrete towers with innovative leafting method. Laureate of the Grand Eolien tender (AMI) JEUMONT ELECTRIC* / MEDEE : Project JEOLIS, Hybrid coiled generator with permanent magnets. Laureate of the Grand Eolien tender (AMI) NTN-SNR / ARTS ET METIERS PARISTECH* : Project WIND PROCESS, Development platform for onshore and offshore turbine bearings. Laureate of the Grand Eolien tender (AMI) CNIM / ENSTA BRETAGNE - SUPMECA* : Project WINDKEEPER, Vessel for offshore maintenance

After 10 years of wind farms development in France, many plants are getting out of their original turbine supplier maintenance contract. The operators can organize their own internal maintenance teams, or use external services from companies specialized in wind turbines maintenance. The maintenance companies usually come from countries pioneer in wind energy, such as Germany for onshore or UK for offshore, or be specialized in maintenance for other sectors than wind.

Facilitator: Pierre WARLOP, Industrial Manager WPD Offshore France

WORKSHOP N°2: SMALL PARTS, CONSUMABLES AND PURCHASE STRATEGIES

The financial volumes invested in each project require many guarantees. Investors and banks make the developers constitute extremely detailed technical files. The developers then require from the turbine and foundation suppliers, the respect of a certification process for the turbine, its critical components and suppliers. For offshore wind farms the plants have to be certified as a whole, from the design to the commissioning, through the installation and supplies.

Facilitator: Christophe BOUCHON, Cofrac technical evaluator Intervenants: DDIS - Jean-Marc CANINI, Chairman, Turbines manufacture AREVA - Stéphane REINHARD, Pie division manager, Turbines manufacture and maintenance EIFFAGE CONSTRUCTION METALLIQUE - Antoine de PREMONT, Offshore project engineer, Mast and offshore foundations manufacture BUREAU VERITAS - Fabrice ESTEZET, Head of operations, Control organism SGS - Pierre-Yves GRISEY, Head of Supply Chain Services Division, Control organism GERMANISCHER LLOYD - Axel JUHNKE, Head of Group Project Certification, Control organism DONG ENERGY - Jacques FEER, PD France, Development & Operation

The components of a wind turbine or an electrical substation are not limitied to critical parts such as: blades, generator, gear box, yaw and pitch systems, mast and foundation. Many other pieces are subcomponents of these critical parts, and request a large variety of suppliers, steal structures, fastenings, circuit boards, connectors and lubricants. Purchase strategies do not obey the same rules depending on the components, or if the components are replaced during operation.

Facilitator: Eric MASSON, Head of renewable energy CCI Littoral Normand-Picard Intervenants: AREVA - Anne TRAN, Head of Supply Management France, Turbines manufacture and maintenance ALSTOM - Jérôme GUYOT, Offshore Supply France, Turbines manufacture and maintenance SPARES IN MOTION - Emmanuel SCHUDDINCK, Wind for future Managing director, Platform for wind turbine spare parts STX EUROPE - Pierre SARRAMEA, Sourcing Manager, Manufacture of substation structures and offshore foundations REETEC - Guillaume BOUCHET, Project manager Offshore wind, Inspection and maintenance onshore/offshore, France/Germany EDF EN - Frédérique RICHARD*, Head of Supply, Development & Operation

What are the Windustry France business meetings? Tuesday 1st & Wednesday 2nd October

It is a service of pre-planned targeted business meetings, dedicated to industrial companies active in the wind power industry or interested in it. Through an interactive web platform, the registered companies can identifiy the relevant contacts and benefit from a dedicated appointments schedule. All participants can access the thematic work shops on specific wind power concerns.
