Hollywood Park Specific Plan Stadium Project Inglewood is now the home of two National Football League teams! Nearly a year after getting its first NFL team in about 20 years, the LA Rams; the Chargers are now set to join them to call Inglewood their home. Inglewood, the future home of a $2.6 billion stadium, is rejoicing. Who says lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice, it has in the City of Champions and the Inglewood community is elated! Inglewood welcomes the Chargers with open arms and looks forward to supporting both teams. Good things happen in the month of January for the City of Inglewood! January of 2014, the Forum reopened with The Eagles performing. The Forum is now the #1 concert venue in California. In January of 2015, the City announced the City of Champions Revitalization Initiative. January of 2016, the NFL votes to allow the LA Rams to relocate to Inglewood and finally; in January of 2017, the Los Angeles Chargers announced that they will relocate here. In less than one year, Inglewood has gone from having NO NFL teams to two. This is a great day for the City of Inglewood. The stadium is slated to open in 2020.

INGLEWOOD NEGOTIATES FOR NEW NBA ARENA On Thursday, June, 15, 2017, the Inglewood City Council unanimously approved an exclusive negotiating agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers that could lead to the construction of an arena for a NBA team. The arena would be located across the street from the NFL stadium that will be the home of the Rams and Chargers. The agreement calls for a three-year negotiating period, including a sixmonth extension, during which, the team will develop details of its proposed state-of-the-art basketball arena with 18,000 to 20,000 seats, team offices, parking and a practice facility. The developers paid a nonrefundable $1.5 million deposit to the City to cover costs associated with the planning. The project could provide the opportunity for the Los Angeles Clippers to move to Inglewood. Currently, the Clippers share Staples Center with the Los Angeles Lakers, the NHL's Kings and the WNBA's Sparks. The Clippers are in a lease agreement with Staples Center that expires in June 2024. Clippers owner, Steve Ballmer says the Clippers would not leave Staples until after then. A new-state-of-the-art NBA arena would allow flexibility and greater latitude to influence game schedules, particularly as it relates to weekend games that are so important to the fans. Additionally, the new arena will offer fans premium experiences in terms of technology, club spaces and other amenities. The arena and football stadium will be a perfect complement to the Forum's presence. Currently, the Forum is the Number One concert venue in California, Number Two in the United States, and Number Four in the entire world. Sports and entertainment at its best.

Anyone can join at the Main Library or at Crenshaw-Imperial Branch Library between June 1 and July 27. Children can choose a mobile to create from “Ancient Egypt,” their “Neighborhood,” “Outer Space,” “The Beach,” “Fairy Tale Land,” “The Zoo,” “Road Trip – the World,” to “Road Trip USA.” For every book read, participants will receive a piece to a mobile to color, decorate, and attach. Inglewood Guide to Home Mechanics

Shade Tree Mechanic Home Car Repair… can save money and be a rewarding hobby, but it often involves using toxic chemicals and can be a major source of pollution. Rainfall can easily wash vehicle fluids off yards and roads and harm rivers and the ocean. Auto fluids, when improperly handled or disposed of, can cause pollution to local groundwater as well. Many vehicle chemicals are toxic to fish and wildlife, and the oil from just one automobile engine can produce an eight-acre oil slick!

Here are some tips that can reduce pollution: Use drip pans to catch leaking or draining fluids. Check your vehicle regularly for leaks and repair leaks promptly. Place absorbent materials or cardboard below the work area. Repair or refuel your vehicle over an impervious surface such as a concrete floor. Always use a funnel when adding fluids to your vehicle. Never use waste motor oil or gasoline to kill weeds. Never dispose of car fluids on the ground, in the trash, or in a storm drain. Recycle your motor oil, drained oil filters, spent solvents, used antifreeze, and car batteries. Place all used absorbent oil rags in a sealed, leak-proof container. Dispose of absorbents properly. For a large spill, call the City of Inglewood's Environmental Services Division. They will assist you with cleanup help: 310.412.5333 Ÿ For automotive fluid recycling and safe disposal you can take your used motor oil and filters to a Certified Collection Center in the City of Inglewood. To find a center near you please call: 888.CLEAN.LA (888.253.2652)

Transit Oriented Development -Downtown Inglewood (TOD) In March, 2015, the Inglewood City Council selected Thomas Safran and Associates (TSA) to develop the parcel of land located at Market Street, Florence Avenue, Regent Street and La Brea Avenue. Many of Inglewood's old timers remember this location as the Bufngton Cadillac location. The parcel has been absent of activity since the late 1980s. The 2.77 acre parcel, approximately 309,000 square feet will be developed with a ground oor of retail and residential units above. The entire project will contain housing units, retail and restaurant space, parking to support the project components and community plazas and pedestrian oriented streetscapes. The ground level will contain restaurants and retail spaces along with a grocery store. The second oor will contain residential amenities of a club house, media and game room, health & tness gym, leasing ofce, dog

park, common pool terrace area, a north facing courtyard, and bicycle parking along with the residential units. Floors three through six will have amenity areas and bicycle storage. The architectural design of the downtown Inglewood TOD plan requires pedestrian oriented façade treatments and a design element compatible with the Historic Downtown Design Guideline. The styling of the development is contemporary and utilizes earth tone colors. Material selections include brick veneer, stucco, anodized aluminum storefront windows along the ground and vinyl windows for the residential units. A number of architectural elements used throughout the development incorporate the TOD Design Guideline requirements including: u Shopfront and forecourt

City of Inglewood O ce of Emergency Services

Over the coming months, the City will host events that will incorporate emergency awareness and how Inglewood citizens can retrieve accurate information quickly when responding to a disaster. These objectives are furthered by leveraging effective partnerships within our community, enhancing our technologies and maintaining a culture of continuous emergency management improvements.

GENERAL INFORMATION

On Friday, January 12, 2018, scores of seniors came out to celebrate the grand opening of the new state-of-the-art Inglewood Senior Center, a multipurpose facility in the rapidly developing City of Inglewood, located at 111. N Locust Street (N/E corner of Queen Avenue and Locust Street). Previously, the seniors were promised a new facility; the old building was demolished to make way for the new center; then construction of the facility experienced a litany of delays. However, with a new regime of like-minded folks in City Hall, projects are being completed, and the center's opening is evidence of the progress Mayor Butts vowed when he took office. Pinner Construction beautifully constructed the facility with amenities fit for a King; no for our Inglewood Seniors.

Inglewood's New Senior Center

The grand opening was well attended; well received and a good time was had by all.
