Position Summary: Assist the UWWC staff in carrying out the programs and activities of the organization including, but not limited to, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites, Financial Literacy workshops, Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL), Mentoring Initiative, Health Insurance Marketplace, Texas Benefits enrollment, volunteer days. Position:

Travel: Some travel is required. Current, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required. Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday –Friday (several evening or weekend events where hours will different) Benefits: Health Insurance, vacation, paid holidays following 90-day trial period. PROGRAM ASSISTANT (50%) Job Duties Assist with creation and distribution of marketing materials Scheduling of sites, events, participants, attendees, clients Coordinate volunteer and client marketing, recruitment & training Coordinate events, meetings, programs, classes, workshops Data entry Accurate and timely reporting Conduct online research as needed/requested Deliver informational presentations to groups of all sizes Set up and staff community & workplace fairs/events Grant writing as needed Assist with answering incoming office phone calls Assist with volunteer days Some evening and weekend hours HEALTHCARE MARKETPLACE/ YOUR TEXAS BENEFITS NAVIGATOR (50%) Job Duties Provide education and enrollment services to targeted population in English & Spanish Attend required and ongoing training, education and certification Maintain and adhere to privacy and security standards Complete required reports and supportive information and submit in a timely manner Work collaboratively with regional and local staff. Schedule, coordinate & deliver community educational presentations, seminars & outreach events Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients

Skills/Abilities Must be fluent in Spanish and English. Detail oriented with the ability to work accurately with numbers and statistical data as well as maintain confidentiality of classified information. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with a diversity of people: clients, staff, Board members, donors, and business contacts. Ability to organize work, set priorities and make decisions when appropriate. Ability to work independently and as a team member while being flexible and change-oriented. Ability to think strategically and use good judgement. Display personal and professional integrity at all times. Education & Experience Requirements  Fluent in English and Spanish  Strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to work with teams, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure high quality and accurate work.  Grant writing and research experience a plus.  Experience working with and supporting volunteers a plus.  Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.  Emotional maturity and agility in working in a fast-paced environment.  Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in utilization of databases and Microsoft Office. Experience with Adobe Indesign is a plus. Teamwork  Work with staff and volunteers in a team manner to promote a cooperative, respectful working environment  Perform other functions as may be assigned and assist other staff members as needed General Qualifications Ability to read, write and converse in English & Spanish. Demonstrated proficiency with written & oral communication important. Must be self-motivated, self-confident, results oriented, & maintain high moral and ethical standards. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, the Board of Directors, partner agencies, other nonprofits, funding sources, state and local public figures, and others. Ability to remain calm under stress and have the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations including responses to complaints. Ability to perform multiple tasks, responding to telephones, correspondence and other auditory and visual stimulation. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and render independent decisions. Must be able to tolerate prolonged sitting or standing. Will be required to travel locally to provide services, attend meetings and training, or to run errands outside of the office. Reliable transportation is required. Must be able to use Windows compatible computers, copiers, telephones, and shredders.
