The “UNT Cover Photo Contest” is open to persons aged 17 years or older. The Contest is open for entries June 28, 2017 at 6 a.m. CST and closes Sept. 8, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. CST. The Contest is free to enter and no purchase of any kind is necessary. By entering the Contest, Entrants accept and will be bound by these Terms and Conditions. To enter the Contest, Entrants must complete the following steps during the Competition Period: a. Design an original image or photo that represents the spirit of UNT (according to the Entrant’s point of view) and fits one of four themes: i. UNT Seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) ii. UNT Big Events (Back to School, Graduation, Founders Day, etc.) iii. UNT History (Hurley Admin Building, Jody’s Fountain, etc.) iv. UNT Quirks (Lucky the Squirrel, Denton Life, etc.) b. Once complete, Entrants must: i. Save a high-resolution digital copy of their completed image ii. Upload the image to either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag “#UNTcover” iii. Email the high-resolution image to [email protected]  Email must include full name, social media handles, a contact phone number and a link to the image on a designated social channel  Email also can include an explanation of the entry, if applicable c. The image must be in .jpeg format, must not be greater than 2000 pixels wide by 761 pixels high (for Facebook) OR 2000 pixels wide by 667 pixels high (for Twitter) Entrants may submit as many designs as they like Entries must follow the “Rules We Play By” and cannot contain any: a. Pornography, nudity or sexually explicit imagery b. Abusive, offensive or hateful imagery or language c. Harassing or defamatory content d. Content that compromises the privacy or safety of yourself or others e. Content that demeans a particular gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, ethnicity or nationality f. Violent or dangerous behavior g. Spam, advertising or other commercial activities Each Entrant grants UNT a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use entries for promotional purposes and for all the purposes related to the Contest, across all media, including any online platforms under UNT’s control. All entries must be completely original so as not to breach any third party copyright. UNT accepts no liability if Entrants ignore these Terms and each Entrant agrees to fully indemnify UNT against any claims by any third party arising from any breach of these Terms. There will be multiple winners, as well as other featured entries. Winners will be chosen by UNT staff members who will determine the number of winners based on the quantity and quality of entries. The decision of the judges is final and the judges shall not be permitted to enter the Contest themselves. a. Each winner shall be determined by UNT staff members, who shall judge each entry on the basis of originality, artistic value, positive community reaction and representation of the UNT spirit. b. Featured entries will be chosen and images will be posted to UNT social media channels throughout the competition period. Featured entries may or may not be chosen as official winning entries. UNT shall notify each winner by email, to the email address used to submit the entry. Winning entries will be used as cover photos on UNT Facebook (/northtexas) and UNT Twitter (@UNTsocial) accounts. a. Winners also will receive a UNT prize pack, including a T-shirt and other swag items. UNT reserves the right to cancel the Contest or amend these Terms at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion or if circumstances arise outside its control. If there is any reason to believe there has been a breach of these Terms, UNT may in its sole discretion refuse to process or promote an entry, or select an entry as a winner or featured image.
