The Captain’s Journal A publication by Chattahoochee Valley Community College Vol. 1 Issue 1 - February 2015

CVCC Family and Friends, What a wonderful start we had to the 2015 New Year! January was a fast paced month full of exciting opportunities and new beginnings. We had a successful spring registration and started our semester off with good enrollment. Our faculty and staff enjoyed hearing from Kristin Scroggin who spoke to us about working in the multigenerational workplace. Our Foundation is busy working with Institutional Advancement to plan our Hall of Fame, so they can raise money for awarding scholarships to deserving students. We signed a reverse transfer agreement with Troy University that will benefit hundreds of past students and potentially thousands more of our current and future students. Stop and think about all of those things; it is just the beginning of the year. Our February promises to be just as exciting as our January. We have blood drives, athletic events, a revival of CVCC Homecoming, Black History Month and so much more. There are so many things going on that I just can’t tell you about it all here in this column. That is why we’ve created this new publication, The Captain’s Journal. Once a month you’ll receive highlights from the College to help tell the stories of our students, faculty and staff at CVCC. I hope you’ll enjoy this new publication as it grows throughout the 2015 year. Enjoy your February and GO PIRATES! Sincerely, Dr. Valerie A. Richardson CVCC Interim President
