Get ready for a whole new standard of travel as Qantas upgrades our fleet of Boeing B737-800 aircraft with greater levels of comfort and enhanced in-flight entertainment options. In addition to refreshing the look and feel of the cabin and improving seat comfort, some aircraft will also have improvements to in-flight entertainment for customers. While selected B737-800 aircraft will have full seatback video on demand in-flight entertainment for each passenger, the refurbishment will see wireless Q Streaming entertainment installed on the remaining B737-800 aircraft to supplement the screens that fold down from the ceiling. This will allow customers to stream on-demand TV, movies and music direct to their own laptops, tablets or smartphones. Qantas

Flying with Jetstar Jetstar is one of Asia Pacific’s largest low fares carriers and offers flights to more than 70 destinations across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Vietnam and South East Asia. Jetstar also offers a domestic New Zealand network linking the key cities of Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington and other flights to Dunedin and the adventure capital of the country, Queenstown. Jetstar operates a modern fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft on domestic New Zealand services and across the Tasman to Australia. Jetstar has recently announced it will introduce four new regional ports in New Zealand in late 2015. The new ports will be operated by a fleet of five 50 seat Bombardier Q300 turbo-prop aircraft.

New Zealand is a three-hour flight from the East Coast of Australia with frequent direct services to four of New Zealand’s international airports: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. Qantas operates services from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Auckland; Sydney to Christchurch; Sydney to Queenstown; plus Sydney and Melbourne to Wellington. Climate

Events in New Zealand

World famous for its clean air, New Zealand enjoys a range of temperatures. The north tends to be sub-tropical while the south is more temperate. Mountain ranges extend down much of the length of the South Island of New Zealand, with the regions lying west of the ranges experiencing much higher rainfall than those to the east. Snow is largely confined to the alpine areas of the central North Island and the South Island. The warmest months are December, January and February and the coldest months are June, July and August.

Transport Road cycling is a popular way to get around and the South Island is one of the best road cycling locations in the world, providing a mix of populated areas and long stretches of scenery. The best time for road cycling is generally February to April. Campervans are another well-used means of transport. More traditional public transportation is also available - various companies offer public bus services and coach tours. Christchurch is New Zealand’s second-largest city and the gateway to the South Island. Bordered by hills and the Pacific Ocean, it is situated on the edge of the Canterbury Plains which stretch to the Southern Alps. The Transitional ‘Cardboard’ Cathedral constructed from cardboard tubes and the original rose windows is a must-see.

Lake Taupo is New Zealand’s largest lake, the source of spectacular Huka Falls. The lakeside town of Taupo provides a base for visitors to enjoy trout fishing, skiing and exploring the local geothermal area.

Wanaka Wanaka provides an appealing mix of family fun, shopping and adventure. With excellent local snow venues, including Cardrona and Treble Cone, snow sport fans flock here in the winter.

Refunds

• No refunds will be issued on any unused portion of the car rental.

A maui or Britz motorhome is an exciting and convenient way to discover and explore New Zealand. With options of 2, 4, or 6 berth motorhomes you can travel in comfort, at your own pace, and on your own itinerary.

Depots

• Depots are located close to the airports in Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown. maui and Britz provide free shuttle transfers to and from Auckland and Christchurch airports. A NZ$210 fee will apply at Queenstown depot for both pick-up and drop-off.

BRITZ

• maui and Britz reserve the right at their sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions or the distance to the nominated destination in relation to the duration of the hire. Deposits • All rentals are subject to a security deposit of NZ$7,500 which is to be paid at pick-up by credit card only. The security deposit will be refunded on the return of the vehicle provided the vehicle has not suffered any damage or been involved in an accident. Credit card fees apply but vary. These card fees may be deducted from the refunded amount depending on the credit card type. • The NZ$7,500 security deposit can be reduced by purchasing the Liability Reduction Option or Inclusive Pack. Details on appication. One-way rentals • One-way hires are subject to a 7 day minimum hire requirement, subject to change. • One-way rentals are permitted for a fee. Prices on application. Standard Vehicle liability • In the event of any damage to the vehicle or third party property, you will be liable to pay a damage liability equal to your security deposit. Optional insurance • maui and Britz have different packages you can select to reduce your liability. These can be added on at the time of booking or upon pick up. Costs that are not included • Fuel • Road tolls • A change of location fee applies to rentals where the drop-off depot changes after the rental has commenced. Prices on application. • Cancellation fees apply to rentals which are cancelled within 21 days of departure. • Inter-island touring: for those wishng to tour both islands maui and Britz campervans can be taken on the Interislander Ferry. Day 1: Wedderburn to Omakau - 43km

This 2 day Railtrail experience starts at Trail Journeys base in Clyde. You will be  provided with an itinerary then transported to Wedderburn to commence the first leg. It is a 43km ride and mainly downhill. The highlights on this day include the Pollburn gorge section featuring two tunnels and viaducts set in a secluded rocky gorge; the vast explanse of the Ida Valley made famous by the painting of Graham Sydney. A recommended lunch stop is at the Oturehua Tavern. Once in Omakau, you have just reached the end of your ride for the day. Overnight: Tiger Hill Lodge or Wilsons

Day 2: Omakau to Clydge - 36km

Start the day with continental breakfast in the morning before you embark on the final leg of your itinerary. From Omakau, there is no hurry to leave this morning as the ride is mainly downhill. If you arrive at Alexandra around lunch time, there are plenty of cafes that will tempt you. The days highlight must be the lovely Centennial Trail that you can take between Alexandra and Clyde. This is off the Rail Trail and follows the Clutha River. It will add 8km on the journey, but if you have the time is really worthwile. You will also bike through the historic town of Clyde as you come off the river trail. There’s no better way to explore New Zealand than by bike. A quaint, lakeside resort town, Te Anau is the hub of World Heritage Site, Fiordland National Park, providing a great base for discovering its many beautiful walking tracks, waterfalls and virgin forests.

On boarding the transfer coach in Te Anau, visitors are treated to a relaxing trip through the rolling countryside to Pearl Harbour, Manapouri. Then board the vessel and cruise across picturesque Lake Manapouri to West Arm before travelling by coach through dense rainforest across Wilmot Pass. Once at Deep Cove, visitors board the catamaran, the Patea Explorer, for a three hour cruise of beautiful Doubtful Sound. On board, there is excellent viewing of waterfalls, rainforest and mountains. Fur seals basking on the rocks, or a resident pod of bottlenose dolphins may also be seen! Rare Fiordland Crested penguins are sometimes encountered on a seasonal basis.

The prices and inclusions in this brochure are valid for the dates specified and should be used as a guide only. The prices are correct at date of publication but may fluctuate due to changes in surcharges, fees, taxes and currency. Please check all prices, availability and other information with your travel consultant before booking. Suppliers: Qantas Holidays is not itself a transport, tour, event or accommodation provider. In making your travel arrangements we act only as an agent for the airlines, hotels, tour operators and other suppliers who supply those services. You should obtain and read the applicable supplier’s terms and conditions as they may limit or exclude their liability to you. How to book: Contact your ATAS travel consultant, who will be responsible for managing your booking and forwarding your payment to us. You will be deemed to have accepted these conditions on behalf of everyone named in your booking. Please note that all requests for bookings are subject to availability. Booking fee: Your travel agency may apply a booking fee in addition to the price of your holiday package. Please check at the time of booking. Payment: A non-refundable deposit is payable within seven days of confirmation of your booking: • domestic (within Australia) $55 per person • international $165 per person • plus any additional deposit required by suppliers (you will be notified at the time of booking) Payment of the balance in full is required at least 30 days before the scheduled commencement of your holiday (or earlier if specified for the particular package). For bookings made within this period, full payment is required at the time of booking. If you have not paid by the due date, we may cancel your booking and retain your deposit.

Cancellations: If you cancel your booking, the amount of your deposit will not be refunded, including deposits required by suppliers. If you have paid the balance of your holiday price, suppliers may also impose cancellation fees amounting to all or part of the total price paid. Once your holiday has commenced, you cannot cancel or obtain a refund on any component of your booking regardless of whether you use it. Changes by you: If you change your holiday package and your documents need to be reissued, a change fee is payable at the time of the change: • domestic (within Australia) $27 • international $25 • plus any cancellation / change fee imposed by suppliers for any component you cancel. Unforseen changes: If we have to change any part of your booking, for example, if an airline changes its schedules or your chosen accommodation is no longer available, or if there is an increase in the price due to additional taxes or supplier charges, we will notify you. You will have the option of cancelling your booking, in which case we will refund the amount you have paid, less deposit and any cancellation fees imposed by other suppliers. International travel: Each passenger is responsible for their own visa, passport (with at least 6 months validity), immigration, quarantine, customs, health and other requirements of the countries to be visited or transited through. Qantas Holidays makes no representations as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may arise at any destination. Travel advice is available from the Australian Government at smartraveller.gov.au. Limit of liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qantas Holidays excludes all liability for direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damages, lost profits or savings or damages for disappointment. Our liability for a breach of condition or warranty implied by law or otherwise, and which cannot be excluded, is limited to the extent possible, at our option to the supply of the services again or the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again.
