Express Service

The Air Rail Link (ARL), a Big Move priority project, will be delivered and operated leveraging Metrolinx, GO, and PRESTO expertise and capabilities.

We will launch in time for the TO 2015 Pan / Parapan American Games and transform the way visitors experience our city.

The ARL will link the two busiest passenger transportation hubs in Canada – Union Station and Pearson Airport (with stops at Bloor and Weston).

Economic Development

The amenities available in our stations and on-board our trains will contribute to a productive, enjoyable and stress free trip.

We will contribute to economic growth in the GTHA by providing a direct connection between the financial district of Toronto and the rest of the world.

We will provide fast, reliable trips 25 minutes long departing every 15 minutes.

Introducing the Union Pearson Express

Vehicles • • • 5

Tier 4 vehicles manufactured by Nippon Sharryo. Purchase order secured for 18 vehicles to be delivered in 2014 for testing and commissioning. On-board amenities such as luggage racks, washrooms and wifi.

Union Station • • •

Design & construction planning underway – construction starts Summer 2013. Located within the Skywalk with direct connections to Union Station and the PATH network. Station amenities include wifi, check-in kiosks, flight information display screens and retail offerings.

Bloor Station • • • 7

Level boarding between platforms and trains. Connections to Dundas-West subway station. All stations are designed to be fully accessible.

Weston Station • • • 8

Attractive station and plaza providing easy access to both ARL and GO services. Convenient passenger pick-up and drop off. All stations will have sheltered waiting areas at the platform level.

Terminal One Station • • • 9

Construction begins Spring 2013. Direct connection to Terminal One and the people mover train to Terminal Three. Fully enclosed station platform behind platform screen doors.

Spur Line • • • 10

Pier & guideway construction underway since June 2012. Three kilometres long and reaching a height of 28 metres above the ground. Construction to be completed Summer 2014.
