All workshops will be held on Saturday 24 February Workshop attendance must be booked in advance via the online registration process Limited attendance USANZ workshops are only available to USANZ members who are fulltime delegates There is a limit of one workshop per delegate; however, waitlists will be started in case there are seats left closer to the ASM. After the earlybird registration deadline (15 January 2018), if there are seats left in workshops, these will be made available to other delegates.

Morning Workshops 0800-noon Robotic Surgery Masterclass Chair: Daniel Moon Presenters: Rene Sotelo; live surgical case performed by Mihir Desai transmitted from USC Suitable for: Urologists, USANZ SET Trainees Duration: 4 hours, Morning tea will be provided Description: For the first time at the USANZ ASM we are delighted to offer an advanced robotic surgical masterclass, chaired by Daniel Moon and featuring internationally renowned robotic surgeon Dr Rene Sotelo. This is ideal for Urologists and trainees interested in performing robotic surgery and expanding their repertoire. The workshop will commence with an overview of robotic partial nephrectomy then a live case transmitted from University of Southern California. The expanding application of robotic surgery to several less commonly performed procedures such as nephroureterectomy, ureteric reimplantation, fistula repair, simple prostatectomy will then be discussed, outlining the approach, specific technical aspects pertaining to robotic surgery, and tips/tricks for achieving ideal outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to view the growing utilisation of robotic surgery across a broad range of Urological procedures.

Optimising Diagnosis and Treatment of NMIBC Chair: Paul Anderson Presenters: Lukas Lusuardi, Tim O’Brien Suitable for: Urologists, USANZ SET Trainees Duration: 3 hours Description: This Masterclass focuses on strategies to optimise the diagnosis and management of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), and features two world-leading experts in bladder cancer. Dr Lusuardi (Vienna, Austria) and Dr O’Brien (London, UK) will overview advances in technologies to improve visualisation of bladder cancer, improvements in imaging and biomarkers, surgical techniques to improve resection and recurrence-free survival, and the role of intravesical therapies. There will also be a panel discussion to consider common and challenging clinical scenarios.

Joint USANZ/ANZUNS Functional & Female Urology Workshop – sponsored by Ferring Chair: Vincent Tse Presenters: Eric Rovner and local panel members Suitable for: Urologists, USANZ SET Trainees, Urology nurses Duration: 3 hours (split into two 90-minute sessions) Description: 0900-1030hrs Female Urology – The Surgical Side This workshop aims to provide participants with the knowledge and understanding to educate and manage their female patients requiring surgical management for SUI. Topics to be addressed include prolapse, pessaries, injectable and slings. The impact of menopause and aging on bladder function will also be addressed. The faculty comprises urologists and nurses with subspecialty expertise in diagnosis and management of the female urology patient. 1045-noon Big Dilemmas and New Developments in Nocturia Nocturia is a multifactorial medical condition leading to poor sleep quality, reduced quality of life and decreased productivity. Sleep deprivation has been associated with significant health problems, including obesity, diabetes and psychological conditions. This workshop explores the big dilemmas and new developments in Nocturia and its impact on patient outcomes.

Join us for this interactive MDM where we work through common cases and conundrums with a panel to help guide your future management of patients.

Masterclass in Penile Prosthetics Chair: Chris Love Presenters: David Ralph, John Mulhall, Eric Chung Suitable for: Urologists with an interest in prosthetics, Senior USANZ SET Trainees, urology nurses Duration: 3 hours Limited to: 40 attendees Location: This workshop will be held offsite at Holmesglen Hospital. Transport to and from the hospital will be provided from the MCEC. Places are strictly limited so please book early. Description: This Masterclass focuses on surgical approaches to patients with erectile dysfunction, including complex clinical situations such as Peyronie’s disease. It will feature two live surgery cases to be performed by Dr Chris Love and Dr David Ralph. The surgeries will be performed at the new Holmesglen Hospital and will be broadcast to the state of the art lecture theatre on site. An expert faculty will moderate the live surgery cases and contribute didactic lectures focussing on penile prosthetics.

Afternoon Workshops 1300-1600hrs Urological Ultrasound Presenters: Lewis Chan, Vincent Tse, Stephanie The, Virginia Tai Suitable for: Urologists, USANZ SET Trainees Duration: 3 hours; Afternoon tea will be provided Limited to: 25 attendees Description: This hands-on workshop aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to utilise ultrasound imaging in the assessment of voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, upper urinary tract pathologies as well as ultrasound guided percutaneous interventions. The faculty comprises urologists and gynaecologists with subspecialty expertise in ultrasound imaging and are advocates for clinician-performed ultrasound. The didactic component of the course covers principles of ultrasound, instrumental controls, imaging techniques and common gynaecologic pathologies. The hands-on component covers the techniques of kidney ultrasound, transabdominal, transvaginal and transperineal ultrasound of the pelvic floor, image optimisation and ultrasound guided percutaneous access. For participants comfortable with 2D scanning there will also be opportunities to perform Doppler imaging and 3D pelvic floor imaging.

PCNL – Percutaneous Access by Image Intensifier and Ultrasound and Intrarenal Surgery Techniques – sponsored by Karl Storz Presenters: David Webb and other presenters TBA Suitable for: Urologists, USANZ SET 5 Trainees Duration: 3 hours, Afternoon tea will be provided Limited to: 30 attendees Description: The most difficult obstacle for most Urologists undertaking PCNL is a step that they cannot see…gaining percutaneous access. This workshop will focus on the 2 options – radiological (image intensifier) and ultrasound with a detailed discussion of both. Hands on with porcine models and a simulated image intensifier will also feature along with a Case Discussion Panel.

There are emerging concepts like PIRADS reporting system, in-gantry MRI guided biopsy, U/S-MRI fusion biopsy and watchful waiting in prostate cancer with PSA along with mpMRI of prostate. This interactive workshop includes an overview of these concepts by a highly experienced guest faculty, followed by multiple case-reviews with pathological outcomes and discussion.
