LEGAL AID Valstybės Garantuojama Teisinė Pagalba State Guaranteed Legal Aid Service
The State Guaranteed Legal Aid Service is headquartered in Vilnius and has offices in four other biggest cities of Lithuania (Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys), and is responsible for assessing eligibility for legal aid, and appointing legal aid lawyers.

The Seimas Ombudsmen investigate allegations of abuse of power made by public authorities and of violations of human rights. The Ombudsmen cannot investigate alleged violations of procedure made by prosecutors and police officers, unless they relate to violations of human rights. Complaints are usually made in writing, and need to be submitted within one year of the event on which the complaint is based. Languages: Website available in Lithuanian and English.
