VAN DRIVER

VAN DRIVER Reports to Director of Corporate Work Study The van driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from their Corporate Work Study (CWS) placements in the morning and afternoon based on a scheduled route.       

   

Transport students to and from school Ensure students are aware of rules and responsibilities as passengers. Follow safety procedures to make sure all students are safe Make note of any student behavioral or disciplinary problems and report them to the Director of Corporate Work Study Keep CWS staff informed of possible delays Listen to alerts about bad weather. Carefully navigate roads and watch for ice, debris, or slippery spot Report accidents immediately Ensure the van/bus is safely and securely stored Record route details in van transportation log Advise the Director of Corporate Work Study of any requirements for vehicle maintenance or repairs Perform related work as required

Position Requirements    

Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license for the type of equipment to be driven, with no serious violations. Ability to operate a van or small school bus in a safe and responsible manner Facility to connect with urban high school students Sound judgement, dependability and initiative
