Verity Credit Union Announces Plans for West Seattle Branch Seattle, November 2, 2017: Verity Credit Union announced today its plans to open a new Community Branch in the West Seattle Alaska Junction neighborhood. The 2,160-square-foot branch will fill the space of the former RadioShack store at 4505 California Avenue SW. Verity plans to begin construction on the remodel in the second quarter of 2018 and open to the community in the summer of 2018. “We have been looking to open a branch in the West Seattle area for quite some time,” said John Zmolek, Verity CEO. “The Alaska Junction neighborhood is the perfect fit for our business model, which is based on tight-knit neighborhoods with a strong emphasis on music, the arts, and community involvement.” The new branch, which Verity refers to as a “community center,” will feature member service consultants who are untethered from bulky desks and teller lines to serve members from anywhere in the branch with wireless tablets. The full-service location will offer new accounts, consumer and small business loans, mortgages, and investment services. A 24-hour accessible ATM will be included in the storefront facing California Avenue. “When the former RadioShack space became available, we knew it was the perfect location for our new Community Branch,” said Zmolek. “This branch is being designed to be more than just a credit union branch, but also a place for community members to gather, to hold meetings, to discuss important topics, and to share and enjoy art and music. The West Seattle Neighborhood Farmers Market provides us an opportunity to open the doors and invite the community in.” The new Verity branch will have some hours on Sundays during peak season of the Farmers Market.
