Dear Member It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the Veterinary Ireland Annual General Meeting & Conference 2016, which will take place on Friday 25th November 2016 in The Heritage, Killenard, Co. Laois. This year we host a Scientific Session on the important topic of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). The Session will allow an opportunity to reflect upon the challenges faced in Ireland and globally by AMR, along with an opportunity to examine the solutions to this global challenge. We are delighted to have an expert panel of speakers, with Dr Nuala O’Connor, ICGP, Denise Roche, Kynetec, Caroline Garvan , DAFM and Cormac Feeney of Troytown GreyAbbey Equine Hospital. We are also pleased to have Damien O’Reilly of RTE to chair this session. In the afternoon Session, Conor Geraghty gives a presentation on sustainability of mixed veterinary practice in Ireland.

Finally, with the support of the Veterinary Defence Society, we host a Session on Regulatory Risk Management in Veterinary Practice, which will examine the rights and responsibilities of vets when subjected to visits by Authorised Officers of regulatory authorities, such as the SIU of DAFM, and inspectors from the Veterinary Council.

N.B. It is a requirement for any Veterinary Ireland Member who wishes to attend the Conference to pre-register using the form below.
