Our Approach to Helping Build Vibrant Communities RBCTM is consistently recognized as a leading corporate citizen, thanks to our community and environmental programs and the involvement of our 80,000 employees worldwide. In 2012, we contributed more than $95 million to causes worldwide through donations and sponsorships of community events and organizations.

Donations We are one of Canada’s largest corporate donors, with a tradition of philanthropy dating back to 1891. We have extended that tradition to the other countries where we now operate. We choose our charitable partners and projects carefully, ensure that we monitor how our funding is used and observe both the letter and spirit of all legal requirements.

Sponsorship RBC provides significant support to community organizations and charities through sponsorships, which we negotiate and undertake for strategic marketing purposes that align with our brand and business goals. In 2012, we supported community programs, art, sport and other organizations with more than $31 million in sponsorship funding. While we provide donations to registered charities as gifts, without expectation of economic return, we expect sponsorships to deliver a quantifiable return on our corporate investment.
