Our YMCAs are dedicated to the enrichment of our communities through the development of people and families. This position is the first integrated executive position across our YMCA organizations and will be instrumental in building the YMCA brand internally and externally across Waterloo Region and Wellington County. Reporting jointly to the CEOs of the YMCA-YWCA of Guelph and the YMCAs of Cambridge, Kitchener & Waterloo, the Vice President of Marketing & Communications will be responsible for all strategic marketing and communications activities across our organizations and communities.

Primary Function: Responsible for developing and executing a strategic marketing and communication plan, the VP will oversee all marketing and communication efforts to promote YMCA products, services and mission statements. The VP will serve as a subject matter expert in all marketing-related activities and through various channels move the YMCA marketing strategies and activities forward to further support the development of YMCA services and the social causes they address. The VP will oversee the development and implementation of the following:  A multi-community branding campaign that builds awareness and drives engagement with our YMCAs  An effective and scalable marketing solution that increases revenue, participation, brand awareness and community support.  A comprehensive internal communications strategy to ensure staff and volunteers across our YMCAs are engaged in our work and aware of the larger impact of our organizations, and the role they play in delivering our mission  A relevant and meaningful digital strategy that drives social engagement and connection with our YMCAs  A strategic community relations strategy that builds on our current partnerships and ensures the YMCA is part larger community driven conversations and initiatives.  A media relations strategy that leverages the power and influence of the YMCA brand so that our stories and messages are amplified through earned media Further, the VP will be expected to set forth a strategy to build an exceptional communications and marketing team and to provide the necessary leadership, mentorship, and coaching required to achieve measurable goals and objectives.

Qualifications:         

Minimum 7-10 years of significant leadership experience in marketing and communications University degree in marketing, communications, business administration, public relations or related fields Top drawer communication skills – no exceptions Track record of success developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans for complex organizations Demonstrated success in achieving measurable goals through marketing efforts Experience in building relationships across communities and sectors Results driven and mission focused Travel across Waterloo region will be required Police Check with Vulnerable Sector
