NEW COMPLIANT RAMP/STAIR

Design Approach Homewood Station was built in 1923 in the Mission Revival style. The proposed ramp structure is designed to be a simple form. The transparency of its architecture is sensitive and sensible to the existing station with the goal of retaining the authenticity of the original structure. The design is differentiated from the historic building yet is compatible with its massing and architectural features to protect the historic integrity of the property and the surrounding environment. The ramp structure design meets the Secretary of the Interior’s standards and guidelines for rehabilitation. The ramp structure design, interior station improvements, and platform design are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
