CVCC Family and Friends, What a wonderful time to be at CVCC. We have so many great things going on in this issue to share with you. I appreciate the CVCC Foundation’s support and the many CVCC employees that helped to make the Track or Treat 5k and the inaugural Rally at the River a success. The race raised over $5,000 for the Chris Patterson Student Support Fund. The Foundation not only helped support our October event, they also welcomed five new members. Just this week, Sabal Trail Transmission signed a Memo of Understanding with the College to support student scholarships with a $50,000 grant. This will greatly help us recruit and retain strong students in the applied technology, public safety and adult education area. The fall semester isn’t over just yet. Basketball is getting into their season and off to a good start. Advising and advance registration are under way, and we’re preparing students for the spring. United Way is wrapping up after many fun events including the kickball, cook-off and cakewalk. We are well on our way to passing our goal. The giving spirit is well established in the hearts of our CVCC family. As the semester begins to close, keep the spirit active as we approach this season of Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Mark Ellard

Mark D. Ellard CVCC Interim President
