Siena enters tonight riding a season long three-game winning streak The Saints have begun to bounce back after dropping 11 of their first 15 games to begin the season Siena concludes a mini stretch where it plays three of four games within the friendly confines of the Times Union Center The Saints are 6-1 at home where defensively they allow just 66.6 points on 39.4% shooting, including just 26.2% from three Siena posted its first road win of the season Sunday, in sweeping the regular season series from Fairfield The victory snapped an 11-game road losing streak for the Saints, which began last Feb. 24 at Fairfield The win was Siena’s first on the road since an 84-64 triumph at Rider last Feb. 19 The Saints’ defense was superb, holding the Stags to just 54 points on 39% shooting, including just 3-22 from three Siena had allowed an average of 79.8 points, 48.6% shooting, and 38.3% from three in its first 10 road games this season Red-shirt senior forward Brett Bisping was recently named one of 30 Division I candidates for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award The award recoginizes Division I seniors who have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition The 30 candidates will be narrowed down to a field of 10 finalists in February Bisping is averaging a double-double with 14.5 points and 11.2 rebounds over the past 12 games A two-time team captain, Bisping achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall and finished with an undergraduate GPA of 3.42 Senior forward Javion Ogunyemi paces the squad averaging 14.9 points, while shooting 57.7% from the field in conference play He leads the team with 15 double-digit scoring efforts over the first 18 games Senior guard Marquis Wright became the fifth player in program history to dish out 500 career assists on Dec. 9 at Florida Gulf Coast He ranks fifth in the MAAC in assists (4.4) and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.08) The Saints are the only Division I team with four 1,000-point scorers on their roster Ogunyemi became the latest Siena player to reach the milestone in the Saints’ win over Bucknell Dec. 17 Three Siena players have eclipsed 1,000 points in the first two months of the season, as Ogunyemi was preceeded in reaching the benchmark this season by fellow seniors Wright -
