Walker & Dunlop Expands Affordable Lending Team Bethesda, Maryland – December 7, 2015 – Walker & Dunlop, Inc. (NYSE: WD) (the “Company”), a leading commercial real estate finance firm, announced today that it has hired Brian Jones to join its FHA Finance group. Mr. Jones will focus on originating affordable multifamily, healthcare, and seniors housing loans out of Walker & Dunlop’s new Cleveland, Ohio office scheduled to open on January 4, 2016. Income disparity, shifting demographics, and government policy are driving growth in financing on affordable, seniors and healthcare properties across the country. Walker & Dunlop has originated nearly $2 billion of loans on these property types in 2015, and the addition of Mr. Jones will help grow that volume in 2016 and beyond. Michelle Warner, executive vice president and group head of FHA Finance commented, “Brian’s extensive expertise and relationships in the healthcare, seniors housing and affordable financing market will allow him to fully leverage the financing options provided by the Company’s bridge, capital markets, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD programs. We expect continued growth in the financing market for affordable multifamily and healthcare lending and look forward to Brian’s contributions towards capturing an increasing share of that market.” Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Jones served as a director at Love Funding, where he originated financing for affordable and market rate projects and healthcare facilities utilizing HUD’s RAD program with 9% and 4% LIHTC. Previously, Mr. Jones served as the assistant vice president of development at Millennia Housing Development, Ltd. where he was responsible for developing and preserving affordable housing. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jones was the finance director at The MetroHealth System, senior manager of the real estate services group at RMS McGladrey, and manager at Howard, Wershbale & Company, CPAs.
