Once you have completed your Kiltwalk challenge, you will be greeted in true Kiltwalk fashion by our wonderful Kiltie volunteers standing ready to give you your very own Kiltwalk 2018 medal. Just follow the live music, enjoy your meal, grab a drink and if you still have energy, join us on the dance floor to dance the evening away! The Kiltwalk Village closes at 10pm.
Our end site is two minutes’ walk from Monifieth Railway Station, however, limited trains run on a Sunday. Buses 5, X7, 39 & 73 serve Monifieth.

Blisters are highly likely to appear on your feet at a Kiltwalk, especially on the longer walks. We suggest you carry a blister kit and don’t recommend wearing new shoes for the event as this could result in blisters and possible injuries. Try not to stop for too long at the Pit Stops as long breaks without moving or stretching can cause your muscles to seize.

Arrival Instructions
Please ensure that your barcoded ID badge and meal voucher(s) are visible round your neck and ready to be scanned upon entering. Keep an eye out for our colourful Kilties who will direct you to the entrance point. If you are missing an ID badge, map, meal voucher or lanyard in your walker pack, go to the Kiltwalk Info Point at your start location, otherwise you are ready to be scanned and immediately enter the event.

Luggage Storage A free luggage storage facility will be available at all starting points. Bags will be shuttled to the Kiltwalk Village (finish line) and will be waiting for you at the Info Point.
Parking St Andrews There is free parking near the start site on the grass further along Bruce Embankment off West Sands Road. If you are being dropped off please do so here or in the Fife Council car park as indicated on the map. Please do not stop in the area immediately next to our start location.
What to Bring
Please bring your walker pack and enclosed items with you on the day. It is essential that your ID badge, lanyard and meal voucher(s) are kept round your neck at all times so you can quickly enter the event and take advantage of the delicious Kiltwalk food throughout the day. Please note, Mighty Striders should have received two meal vouchers.
Tayport There is free on street parking near to the Big Stroll start. Please do not park in the bus terminus. Dundee Waterfront Parking available at Olympia Parking. Blue Seaway Monifieth There is a large car park near to the end site, please follow the instructions of our traffic marshals. There is also free on street parking nearby.

Kiltwalk Buses A chargeable bus service (£5pp) is available from Monifieth via Dundee Apex Quay Hotel and Tayport to St Andrews. Post event there will be a chargeable bus service from Monifieth via Dundee City Centre, Tayport and St Andrews.
Food Don’t forget to take full advantage of your meal voucher and pick up your hot meal in the Kiltwalk Village. Enjoy!
First Aid You will also find our first aiders at the finish line by the Medical Tent.
GENERAL Dogs
Kiltie Volunteers Food & Drink All our Pit Stops dish out snacks, water and energy drinks to keep you going throughout the walk. Your meal voucher is redeemable at the food stand in the Kiltwalk Village so you have something warm waiting for you once you have completed your challenge. Mighty Stride walkers will also enjoy a light snack at Pit Stop 3. We encourage you to bring additional food supplies to see you through the challenging day.
Keep Hydrated It’s vitally important that you keep well hydrated by topping yourself up throughout the day. Drink small amounts, not just when you’re thirsty. Water and energy drinks are available at the Pit Stops.
Toilets All Pit Stops have toilets. Baby changing facilities can be found in the accessible toilets found both at Pit Stops and the Kiltwalk Village.
Entertainment Our amazing charity partners will be providing entertainment at Pit
Our enthusiastic ’Kiltie’ volunteers will be back again, keeping you motivated throughout the event. You’ll find them in their bright red polos or jackets and they are available to help you with anything you may need. Be sure to give them a wave when you pass by!
We’re more than happy for your K9 companions to walk the route alongside you. We do ask however that all dogs are kept on a short leash and that you bring bags to clean up after your dog.
Road Safety It is very important to remember that the Kiltwalk does not have any right of way on crossings or roadsides. Please ensure that you use the Green Cross Code and stick to pavements. DO NOT walk on roads and please ensure you cross at appropriate crossing points and follow Kiltwalk signage at all times.
Info Point and Luggage Collection Staff and Kilties will be based at the Kiltwalk Village Info Point throughout the event. Please use this service for any lost property, collecting luggage and for any other queries you might have.
Massage Looking for something a little more relaxing? Why not treat yourself to a sports massage to really unwind after your days achievement.
With the exception of the bar at the Kiltwalk Village, alcohol is NOT permitted at any point along the route. Any walkers found under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be dismissed from the event. Smoking within any of the venues or structures is not permitted and should only be done within designated areas. Please can we ask that if smoking on the route you respect other walkers’ preferences and hold onto cigarette butts until the nearest litter bin.
EMERGENCIES If you come across an emergency, please then tell a member of Kiltwalk Staff and/or a Kiltie Volunteer. If one isn’t nearby, please contact our Control Room on 07342 626 393.
Waste The Kiltwalk supports ‘Keep Scotland Beautiful’, and it is very important to us that the entire route be left in the best possible state. Help us achieve this by ensuring all litter is put into bins across the route and venues. Spectators are encouraged to come along to the finish and help you celebrate crossing the line. Alcohol/Smoking

will be taken and held at the Info Point at the Kiltwalk Village. Please allow until 9pm for all handed in items to make their way to this point. All unclaimed items will be handed over to the nearest Police station to the Kiltwalk Village after the event.

Lost Children Any lost children must be reported to a member of Kiltwalk staff or Kiltie so that the appropriate procedures can be followed. Any found child will be reported to Police Scotland. If the child is found at a venue, they will be kept at the Info Point. If found on the route, the child will remain with a member of the Kiltwalk staff and Police Scotland will be informed.
