• Walkers are responsible for their own safety, equipment, food, clothing and vehicles
Now in its sixth year, the Walking Festival has expanded to include Christchurch city and parts of the Selwyn and Waimakiriri districts. This year’s festival will offer 54 walks that will appeal to those wanting to embrace nature, culture, the arts, history, and new developments around our city. The free walks include a range of easy, medium and challenging routes. Some will include activities which will cater for all interests, ages, and cultures, as well as walks which include dogs. All the walks have been designed to offer accessibility to participants of all abilities, including those using wheelchairs and buggies. The walking festival presents a great opportunity for all Cantabrians to explore their city and region, to discover new places, learn more about old haunts, try fun activities, and above all to enjoy a social outdoor experience. So let’s get out and make the most of this year’s festival, because after all, walking is for everyone!
