Stephanie Sikorski PRESIDENT Stephanie Sikorski is VP of Marketing and Director of the re-imagined NACS Foundation for NACS, the Association for Convenience and Fuel Retailing. In this role, she leads the development of integrated marketing strategies and executes campaigns to effectively grow the organization’s brand. In marketing NACS programs, products, and events, her focus is centered on educating, engaging stakeholders and activating supporters—and those that strive to influence social behaviors—to benefit target audiences and general society/industry. Sikorski has been working in the Marketing and Communications field for more than 15 years, gaining experience with The Vision Council, the City of Tallahassee, and Napier Enterprises. She has been an active member of AMADC for more than seven years, having served as its President-Elect, VP of Marketing & Communications, and Director for the association’s monthly e-newsletter, DC Marketer. She holds degrees in Business Administration and Marketing from Niagara College Canada, an honors B.A. in Communication and a concentration in Public Relations from George Mason University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree from Georgetown University in Integrated Marketing Communications. Stephanie resides in Alexandria, VA.

President, Roles and Responsibilities The President is held accountable for all chapter responsibilities and directs and leads the board of directors who govern the local chapter of the Washington, DC Chapter of the American Marketing Association on behalf of its membership.

Brent R. Hayhurst I M M E D I AT E - PA S T P R E S I D E N T

Brent has more than 15 years of professional experience within a variety of industries including energy, telecommunications, manufacturing and currently hospitality. In his current role as a Sr. Manager with Hilton he supports various business initiatives across the global organization, with a focus on mitigating business and legal risk. Prior to joining Hilton in 2014, he worked for Verizon Enterprise Solutions where, as a Sr. Pricing Consultant, he managed the organization's competitive position and business development efforts in both the Federal and regional Commercial market spaces. He attended Marshall University in Huntington WV and received a Masters of Science in Marketing degree with The Johns Hopkins University in 2010.

Immediate-Past President, Roles and Responsibilities The Immediate Past-President serves as a member of the Board of Directors for one year immediately following his/her Presidency. This is primarily an advisory position, using past experience to facilitate the operation of the Chapter, most importantly as it relates to advising the President. The Immediate Past-President shall assist the President and other Board members in the maintenance of a strong presence in the DC marketing community.

A technologist enthusiast with his first computer at the age of four, Michael shares an unbridled passion for technology. Michael’s career started when he was 16 years of age building servers and personal computers which evolved into a bachelor’s degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA in computer science. From there, Michael went on to work in the content management space building enterprise systems on the web before returning to Maryland working in the White House architecting three major systems critical to the operations of the executive residence. Leveraging this experience and six years spent as a security and infrastructure engineer, Michael returned to his passion for the web and created Unleashed Technologies. Unleashed Technologies is dedicated to the success of its clients meeting their online goals and objectives. Chief Operations Officer & Secretary, Roles and Responsibilities The Secretary/COO will bring efficient and effective systems to increase the productivity of the AMADC by leading internal operations. He/she will work in partnership with the President and President-Elect to create the strategic plan and implement new processes and approaches to achieve it. He/she he will lead a performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against the annual goals and will ensure a streamlined approach to AMADC operations.

Stephanie Stevens V P, R E S E A R C H

Stephanie has over 10 years of marketing and market research experience in the healthcare field. She is currently the Senior Manager of market research for Magellan Health’s Magellan Rx division where she manages the creation of the Annual Trend report. Her expertise is in the areas of primary research, strategic consulting, and data analytics. During her career, Stephanie has assisted a variety of major health care players derive meaningful, actionable insights for the entire customer lifecycle and convert those insights into strategic marketing approaches. Prior to joining Magellan, Stephanie was a consultant at Health Strategies Group, a market research and consulting firm. While there, she played an instrumental role in growing the Medicare portfolio and managed analysts and graphic production professionals.

VP, Research Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for producing member insights and recommendations that will guide member development and innovative growth opportunities. Key responsibilities include; conducting 1-2 yearly membership surveys to AMADC members; and working closely with other VPs to ensure appropriate, well-targeted member offerings are created based on the survey results garnered.

Debbie Bates Chief Creative Officer

As President of Bates Creative, Debbie Bates-Schrott brings deep understanding of leading edge digital publishing strategies and brand initiatives across marketing platforms to clients and partners. Her visionary thinking about brands and her engagement in partnerships has attracted a national clientele, including Fortune 100 companies, leading associations, higher education institutions and government agencies. Debbie’s energy and passion for rallying brands has made her a highly sought after speaker who regularly contributes to media and marketing events around the country. A natural entrepreneur and trailblazer, Debbie founded her own agency, Bates Creative Group, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2013. She has successfully led the agency from a print to a digital world, contributing to year-over-year growth. Prior to launching Bates Creative, Debbie co-founded a graphic design agency before the age of 30. A graduate of The Corcoran College of Art + Design, Debbie has also served on numerous boards, including Association Media and Publishing, Florida Magazine Association, International Association of Business Communicators, and Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington.

Chief Creative Officer, Roles and Responsibilities The Chief Creative Officer (CCO) is responsible for ensuring a consistent and dynamic expression of the AMADC Brand. The CCO interacts closely with all major aspects of the organization and helps guide the chapter in all of its creative communications and messaging to the membership at large. The CCO is also responsible for leading a sizable team of creative volunteers relative to this important task.

Mike Gardner is an executive search and career management professional. He is the founder of Thinkinghire, a Washington DC firm that specializes in providing HR Consulting, Executive Coaching and Talent Management services. Thinkinghire is a boutique firm that serves the marketing, advertising, and public relations industries. Most recently, Mike served as the Chief People Officer and Senior Vice President for Millennial Media, a publicly traded company located in Baltimore, Maryland. In his role, he was responsible for overseeing all employee-related functions. During his time there and reporting directly to the CEO, he doubled the size of the company’s talent and helped the company through its IPO. Prior to Millennial, Mike served as the President of AMADC having prior experience serving as President-elect. A seasoned marketing executive with more than 15 years of experience in the field, Mike has helped to build profitable businesses, managed high profile programs, developed great teams, and managed budgets for such icons as America Online (AOL), Discovery Communications, Verizon Communications and more. Gardner’s experience includes new media product development, corporate brand strategy, marketing strategy, marketing communications and advertising, as well as staffing and executive coaching. He enjoys sailing, cooking, golfing and is also a professional painter. He and his family including four children live in Northwest Washington, DC.

VP, Sponsorship Roles and Responsibilities Leads effort to develop and grow strategic relationships with AMADC that will ultimately enhance programming experiences and membership value. Responsibilities include: structuring program benefits; measuring value proposition; and guiding Board need assessments and strategy.

Chris Hagood partners with government, nonprofit and for-profit organizations to improve business results through analytics-based strategies. He’s held business development and operational management roles within the nonprofit and private sectors. His experience spans from early-stage startups to large enterprise organizations.

VP, Programming: How-To Series Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for developing and executing monthly events designed to address critical marketing and leadership topics for AMADC membership. These entertaining and engaging events provide actionable, useful tips for marketers—over lunch.

Katie (Veatch) Reed V P, M A R K E T I N G & C O M M U N I C A T I O N S

Katie Reed is currently the Marketing Manager for Acuity, Inc., a leading management and technology consulting firm that specializes in supporting public sector organizations. In this role, Katie is dedicated to increasing brand awareness and company consideration as well as supporting corporate initiatives and internal communication efforts to enrich employee experience and engagement. She oversees all marketing efforts including content marketing, branding, communications, lead generation, social media management, public relations, and more. Prior to Acuity, Katie held several roles at Angie's List including Senior Online Editor before becoming Social Product Line Manager. In this role she led the development and implementation process of new features to execute a social strategy to improve member engagement. Katie is an active member of the American Marketing Association's Washington D.C. chapter (AMADC). After joining the chapter in 2013, she served as the manager of AMADC's Twitter channel before becoming the Assistant Vice President, and then Vice President, of Social Media. She holds a bachelor's degree from DePauw University, where she studied Communications and Economics.

VP, Marketing & Communications Roles and Responsibilities The VP of Marketing & Communications will focus on raising awareness of all AMADC efforts outside of the current membership channels using combinations of traditional and non-traditional media strategies; will work to build relationships with media partners and will secure external placements to help augment chapter goals. This role will also lead the Communications committee, which will include Social Media, Web, Newsletter and Email communication channels.

Chris Ewing V P, P R O G R A M M I N G : Masters of Marketing and SIG Series Chris has been working in marketing, tech and events for over 10 years. He currently runs a web and mobile development firm called Hungry Media and loves playing ice hockey at all hours of the night.

VP, Programming: Masters of Marketing and SIG Series Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for developing, implementing and executing the chapter's overall program strategy for special interest group SIG programming; which focus on key topics of relevance to specific market segments within the AMADC Membership. These progressive workshops and speaker panels often foster collaboration by combining entertainment and networking with expert-led presentations. In addition, responsible for developing and executing 2-3 events designed to attract national innovators and thought leaders to our DC market to address cutting edge topics and what it takes to succeed. These large scale, evening events will provide AMADC membership the opportunity for learning in addition to professional networking.

Linda E. Roth V P, P R O G R A M M I N G : N E T W O R K I N G & S P E C I A L E V E N T S An aficionado of the hospitality public relations industry, Linda Roth, the founder and president of Linda Roth Associates, Inc. (LRA), is the “go-to” woman when the hospitality industry’s message needs to get out. She has developed marketing and publicity campaigns for independent and chain restaurants, hotels, associations, wine, beer and spirits companies, and non-profit hospitality organizations. Marketing strategies as well as publicity strategies are critical in guiding national retail, restaurant and hotel groups in their expansion into the Washington, DC metro area market. Major hospitality groups such as Hilton Hotels Worldwide, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, and Kimpton Hotels have sought out LRA to plan and execute their expansion into the DC market. The government of Chile hired LRA to promote its food, wines, tourism, mining and animation services to the U.S, targeting Miami, New York City and Philadelphia. Her company has also worked with the Embassy of Spain to promote a cultural program, and with Sweden’s embassy in DC to promote its sustainable apparel. Iceland Express also chose LRA to launch its service into the U.S. LRA also represent Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) to position its annual RAMMYS awards dinner as well as its various promotional restaurant week and cocktail week programs throughout the year. Linda is a member of the Partnerships & Alliances Committee of Destination DC, as well as past president of the DC chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier. She is a member of RAMW and The James Beard Foundation.

VP, Programming: Networking & Special Events Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for the design and execution of monthly networking events that promote a stronger AMADC membership community and support new member interest and acquisition by providing regular/recurring opportunities for members to connect and network with each other within AMADC. In addition, he/she is responsible for developing and executing at least two (2) exciting large scale events during the chapter’s fiscal year, designed to add extremely high value to the AMADC membership. These large scale events will provide an opportunity for members to network, gain insights and have a unique and enjoyable experience.

Laura Genovese V P, P R O G R A M M I N G : D I S T R I C T C U R R E N T

Laura currently serves as the Education Program Manager for NACS, the Association for Convenience and Fuel Retailing, located in Old Town Alexandria, VA. In this role, Laura collaborates with the Education team in planning educational conferences and meetings through program development, speaker management and onsite production. Laura was excited to join the NACS team in September 2016. Prior to working with NACS, Laura worked with Potomac Management Resources, an association management and event planning firm based in Alexandria, VA. During her time at PMR, she worked very closely with a variety of board of directors and committees, allowing her to gain extensive knowledge within event planning, member services, communications and more. During her undergraduate career, Laura interned at Linda Roth Associates in Washington, DC, where she assisted in the planning and production of the Larry King Cardiac Foundation 2010 East Coast Gala Silent Auction. A 2010 graduate of George Mason University, Laura received her B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. Laura is currently pursuing her CAE certification through ASAE, the American Society of Association Executives

VP, Programming: District Current Roles and Responsibilities To build interest and buzz around AMADC’s young professional community. District Current programming includes an educational series that focuses on the critical things a new marketer needs to know to be successful in our industry and networking events. This position will also manage the Professional Certified Marketer certifications offered by AMA, helping to guide the value position to members, strategic focus and evolution.

Angela Long V P, M E N T O R P R O G R A M

Angela is a strategic marketer with a passion for creating brands that connect with clients and that uniquely position firms and professionals in the marketplace. Having worked on both the agency side and the client side, Angela has deep experience in creating strategies and integrated marketing campaigns in industries that include healthcare, biotechnology, automotive and consumer goods. Her focus is translating strategy into impactful, actionable programs, which she accomplishes by, working closely with sales, aligning marketing with the customer decision journey and optimizing the lead generation process. After her experience on the client side, Angela realized she missed the client side. She joined the law firm Womble Carlyle in 2017 to lead the firm’s marketing efforts in the mid-Atlantic region. With a father in the Foreign Service, Angela grew up in South East Asia and the Middle East, followed by 8 years in Italy. Angela holds a BA in Modern Languages from Converse College, an MS in Management from Boston University and an MS in Marketing from Philadelphia University. Passionate about design thinking, she holds a Statement of Accomplishment from University of Virginia Darden School of Business and mentors with DT:DC’s Summer of Design program.

VP, Programming: Mentor Program Roles and Responsibilities The Mentor Program supports AMADC’s mission to drive professional development and connections. This is achieved through a structured, annual program delivered through a variety of activities and initiatives to ensure the effective engagement and ongoing collaboration of both mentors and protégées.

As President of Bates Creative, Mark brings his unique expertise, strategic thinking and creative cohesion to our client’s challenges by guiding our team to translate relevant data into memorable experiences. What separates Mark from other industry leaders is his ability to listen—listen to a client’s goals, a brand’s differentiating purpose and what the market demands. He is also a three-time Emmy-award winning creative director for programming featured on A&E, PBS, and ZDTV. Mark’s enthusiasm for the industry has reached classrooms at American University and speaking engagements across the country. Additionally, Mark currently sits on the Board of Directors for the American Marketing Association, D.C. Chapter.

VP, Programming: Collegiate and Community Outreach Roles and Responsibilities This role will focus on increasing the community engagement level of AMADC members by identifying causes and community events that AMADC members can support as an organization. In addition, he/she will focus on strengthening the chapter’s relationship with local educational institutions and AMA Student Member organizations.

Justin H. Schauble CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Justin H. Schauble is the Executive Producer for New District Media, LLC, a Washington, DC-based video production and multimedia provider. Justin brings more than fifteen years of experience as Producer, Director, Scriptwriter, and Editor to lead the talented team of creative visual colleagues at New District Media, LLC. Justin and his team have documented leading edge, lifesaving discoveries and procedures pioneered by world-renowned physicians; given voice to sustain the traditions of non-profit educational institutions; and provided video marketing that heightens brand awareness. These visual stories have been shared among practitioners, benefactors, and respected peers worldwide through a global community of non-profit associations, institutions, and corporate entities. Lauded for his efforts filming in both the United States and Europe, Justin is the recipient of local and national video awards including: Telly, TIVA, Davey, and Communicator Awards. Upon receiving his Master’s degree from American University’s School of Communication with a concentration in Producing for Film and Video, Justin’s first collaborative documentary video, Roy Stryker’s America, was catalogued for distribution among higher educational institutions throughout the United States. Justin and his wife, Laura, reside in historic southeast Washington, DC where they value family, friendships, and a rewarding cultural environment.

Chief Financial Officer, Roles and Responsibilities The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for receiving and disbursing funds and managing the financial affairs of the chapter. Specific responsibilities include preparing and submitting a preliminary budget; maintaining the financial accounts of the chapter; supervising payment of funds; preparing monthly final reports; and, making any investments as authorized by the Board.

President-Elect, Roles and Responsibilities The President-Elect shall automatically succeed to the Presidency at the end of the year following his/her election to the office of President-Elect. The President-Elect assists the President in the management of chapter affairs; assumes the responsibilities of the President in his/her absence or incapacity to serve; coordinates and directs the activities of all Vice Presidents on behalf of the President; and acts as chair of the chapter Nominating Committee.

VP, Membership Acquisition and Retention Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for driving all programs through which the membership of this chapter can be maintained and expanded. Organizes and carries out an active recruiting program, uses official membership materials and procedures; track member retention; welcomes new chapter members; and, engage with prospective members.

VP, Volunteer Engagement Roles and Responsibilities Focus on increasing the engagement level of all AMADC members. The position works with each board member to determine committee staffing needs and recruits members to fill such positions. Specific responsibilities include: creating an orientation program for volunteers to help position them for success; and, developing a recognition program—all in an effort to help augment chapter goals.
