Most Recent WATER RIGHTS RELEASE • A Water Rights Release was conducted between July 15, 2013 and December 1, 2013. • 6,800 acre-feet recharged the Below Narrows, Lompoc Plain. • Currently, the Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District has about 4,500 acre feet of water in the Below Narrows, Lompoc Plain Account, stored in Cachuma Reservoir for future.

The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) of 2014 Requires: •Groundwater resources must be sustainable for long term reliability • Department of Water Resources (DWR) provides details on formation of Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) & development of Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSAs) by December 2015 • GSA must be established for the Santa Ynez River Valley (SYRV) December 2016 • By December 2021 a Groundwater Sustainability Plan for the Santa Ynez River Valley must be in place.
California State Water Resource Control Board Drought Emergency Conservation of March 27, 2015 • Limit outdoor irrigation of ornamental landscapes or turf with potable water to no more than two days per week.
Governor Brown Issues Executive Order Requiring Statewide Mandatory Water Reductions April 1, 2015 The Executive Order requires the State Water Board to take several conservation-related actions to reduce potable water usage by 25% as compared to usage in 2013. •Proposed regulatory framework indicates 20% reduction for Lompoc.
