• Each academic period will be 49 minutes in length.

7th Grade Sample Schedule

•There are 7 periods in a school day. • Students will have (4) core academic periods plus (3) periods of elective classes. Public Speaking/Presenting and Health/Physical Education should make up (1) of the (3) elective periods in 7th grade.

•The middle school schedule provides opportunities for challenging academics, targeted interventions, and expanded elective offerings that allow Weaver Middle School to meet the 21st century needs and interests of todays students.

Language Arts 7 • 949 STAR Reading Scaled Score • Math 7 or Accelerated Math 7 • 838 STAR Math Scaled Score • Algebra 1 (A/B) • Prereq: Pre Algebra • Science 7 or Accelerated Science • 949 STAR Reading Scaled Score and 838 STAR Math Scaled Score • Social Studies 7 or Adv. Elective Courses • Students are required to schedule (3) full periods of elective courses to complete their 7 period school day. One of those (3) periods will consist of Public Speaking/Presenting and PE/Health. The other two periods are student choice. • Students have a 30 minute lunch period along with a 49 minute class period during their 5th period time slot.

Academic Intervention A number of intervention opportunities may be scheduled for students based on State Test data, STAR scores,504 Plans, ELL and IEP Goals and/or teacher recommendations. All of these courses fall under the category of Supported Studies. IEP or ELL students should select “Supported Studies” as a place holder in their schedule until the appropriate course for the student is assigned by their teachers.

Supported Studies Includes: Math 180 Math Extensions Academic Focus Supported Studies Literacy Explorations (LEAP) Reading Extensions

How do I register my student for 7th grade? Make sure you log in to Home Access Center using the Student’s Username/Password. The scheduling function is not available when logged in with a Parent’s Username/Password.
