This is a quick guide to see if we’re a good match to work together on your website project. Read on to learn more about who I am, what I do, and how I can help you. If you’re reading this, you probably are a little anxious about working with a web designer. You may have worked with a designer in the past who didn’t “get” you or your vision. HOW EACH WEBSITE PROJECT WORKS Project Inquiry & Booking After reading this guide, if you’re interested in working together, fill out my Project Inquiry Form. You’ll let me know your project needs, timeline and budget. If it seems like we’re a good fit, we can schedule a free consultation call to discuss your website project and I will answer any questions you have about working together. Next I will send you a proposal and contract for you to accept and sign. You will also pay a deposit to reserve your spot in my calendar. I work with a limited number of clients at one time because I believe in making each client feel that they are taken care of.
Pre-Project Planning & Strategy After your project is booked, I will send you a questionnaire to get a feel for your brand, your website goals, how your website should look and feel, and what you want your audience to experience on your website. This is also the time that you work on getting your content gathered together (text, photos, graphics, downloads, etc.). You write your website content - or you can work with a copywriter. The more clarity you have in your content before the project starts, the better the website structure and design will be.
Project Website Design & Development First I will plan out the site structure and decide what goes where, based on the website goals and strategy planned during the preproject phase. Next I work on the website design and present it to you as a mockup. You will have the opportunity to provide your feedback and request design mockup revisions. After you approve the design, I start creating your website in WordPress (or BigCommerce for larger ecommerce sites). You will be given access to view the website as I am working on it. I also add your content to the website. You again will have the opportunity to provide your feedback and request revisions to the website.
Launch Before your new website goes live, we both test the website for any bugs or errors and your final payment is due. Then we launch – and celebrate your new website! I offer 2 weeks of website updates and support post-launch. I also provide you with a custom user manual for your website.

PAYMENTS A deposit of 50% of the projected* website project cost is due at the time of booking to reserve your spot in my schedule. The balance is due prior to the website launch - or by the project due date, if you delay the project timeline. *Projected costs are based on the scope of work and the timeline, as outlined in your project quote. If you wish to add or change the scope of work – or if the timeline changes (due to a change in the project scope or to a lack of response on your part), additional costs will be billed. Payment may be made via credit card or PayPal.
CANCELLATIONS Sometimes things just don’t go the way we expect them to. If at some point, either of us decides our working relationship is failing, we can submit the desire to part ways in writing and payment for all work completed at that point will be due. For example, if the website is 75% complete, you will be billed for 75% of the total project cost, and 100% of any additional expenses must be reimbursed. You will own any completed or partially-completed files that I have created, and may use them in any way you choose. I retain the right to use anything I created in my portfolio. Please note: if you cancel the project, your initial deposit is non-refundable.
