Certified in supply chain management from Cranefield University UK. Founder of the Colombo International Maritime Conference-CIMC. Independent shipping/trade consultant and a UNESCAP certified trainer involved in professional training in the areas of shipping, international trade, logistics, and transport and trade facilitation with expertise in the field on export/import, ports and shipping, international trade policy, logistics and supply chain management for 25 years. Former chairman of the Sri Lanka Shippers’ Council, & Association of Shipper’s Council of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan & Sri Lanka (ASCOBIPS), served as the first Secretary General of the Asian Shippers’ CouncilASC- 2009-2012 representing 16 countries in Asia A working group member on shipping surcharges for the London based Global Shippers’ Forum (GSF). Also a working group member of the Paris based International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) on INCOTERMS Plus transport project. Former Secretary General of the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) Sri Lanka and currently chairs the logistics committee of JAAF. Serves as a senior consultant to H.E the President office in Sri Lanka on ports and airports via Strategic Enterprise Management Agency (SEMA)

Roy van Eijsden, Director – Maritime & Logistics, WSP Global Roy van Eijsden is a senior Director at WSP. He manages the global Maritime Advisory Team and is part of the global Maritime Leadership team. Previously he was a Director at Royal HaskoningDHV and managed Ocean Shipping Consultants. He worked as the Managing Director for Royal HaskoningDHV’s Turkey office and was Vice Chairman of the Board of ELC Group Inc. His 17 years of professional experience includes commercial and technical consultancy services for large scale infrastructure projects and mergers and acquisitions across six continents. He provides consultancy at a strategic level, offering services to a broad spectrum of clients including port and shipping companies, multi-national oil & gas and chemical companies, financial, legal and private equity firms. He was the lead commercial advisor for some of the largest transactions in the port industry in recent years and has also acted as expert witness for several international clients. In the last year, Roy and his team have advised on more than 10 billion US dollars in deal value. He is a graduate of ISAM at the Rotterdam School of Management and Business School Netherlands.

SPEAKERS Bert Van Leeuwen, Managing Director – Global Head Aviation and Intermodal Research, DVB Bank Bert van Leeuwen is heading up DVB’s Aviation and Intermodal Research unit, which is responsible for the bank’s aviation and container transport asset analysis activities. Bert is a regular speaker at transport conferences all over the world with subjects ranging from commercial aircraft markets to intermodal equipment values and remarket-ability. He started his career in 1983 with NIBC Bank as a business consultant and became a cofounder of NIBC’s transport finance research department. After having spent over 10 years in aviation, offshore energy, rail and intermodal equipment research for several Dutch banks, he joined operating lessor IEM in 2001 to head up the Market Research & Business Development department. Bert joined DVB Bank in April 2003 where he is responsible for the Aviation and Intermodal Research unit. He holds a degree in Business Economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and is a regular contributor to various industry publications.

Alan Murphy, CEO & Partner, SeaIntel Maritime Analysis Alan Murphy has 11 years of experience in Container Shipping research and analysis, with a focus on providing actionable intelligence and analysis, based on rigorous quantitative and econometric modeling. Mr. Murphy has a degree in business economics and a background in academic Finance Research, before entering the logistics industry in 2004, working with project management and systems development at Maersk Line, and later as Senior Analyst of Maersk Line's Intelligence and Analysis section. In January 2011, Mr. Murphy partnered with former Maersk Line and TCC Intelligence Director, Lars Jensen, founding SeaIntel Maritime Analysis, an industry-leading analysis and consulting firm providing actionable intelligence to the global Container Shipping industry

SPEAKERS John Fossey, Contributing Editor, WorldCargo News John Fossey has spent over 30 years researching, analyzing and writing on developments in the container shipping, general cargo, logistics and ports industries. John is employed as a Maritime Transport Consultant at Moffatt and Nichol and is also a contributing editor for World Cargo News. His work mainly involves preparing cargo forecasts and competitor analyses, writing detailed market reports and advising port authorities, terminal operating companies, infrastructure funds and financial entities on a full range of investment, commercial and operational issues when it comes to new projects, concession agreements and re-financing programmes. Up until November 2012, John was editorial director of the leading liner shipping magazine Containerization International having previously also worked for Drewry Shipping Consultants. He also specializes in ocean carriers’ network planning and investment strategies, trade lane and market analyses, port/terminal operating and financial performances and freight, including cool, logistics solutions.

Dean Davison, General Manager – Innovation Group, Inchcape Shipping Services Highly experienced ports and shipping professional, with direct experience gained in operational and commercial roles for Port of Tilbury/Forth Ports plc, followed by working as a trade journalist for Containerisation International magazine, and over 17 years in specialist port, shipping and economic consulting advisory services on a global basis, including cargo forecasting, market studies and due diligence/advisory commercial and operational services to the public and private sectors for a range of specialist service providers. A broad background of experience gained working for Inchcape Shipping Services, Ocean Shipping Consultants/Royal HaskoningDHV, Drewry Shipping Services and Moffatt & Nichol.
