ROOM INFORMATION ROOM INSPECTIONS Members from the accommodations team will be coming through the building at various points throughout the academic year. We will be entering your room to inspect the health and safety of your belongings and the condition of your room. Should we conclude that the living conditions in your room are unacceptable, we will provide you with a warning and a summary of how we plan to deal with the problem. Should you not respond to the warning within the time frame provided, we will move forward to address and correct the problem at a cost that you are responsible for. You will be advised one week before each inspection.

FRIDGE Each room is equipped with a small refrigerator. Upon arrival, please ensure that your refrigerator is in proper working condition as you will be held responsible for any damage to the unit during your residency. It is important to defrost the freezer occasionally to make sure that it’s still working well. Please also take note of smaller details, like whether your freezer door is intact. Defrosting your fridge: 1. Unplug fridge. 2. Empty all contents. 3. Empty water from drip tray to avoid spillage, which will damage the flooring. 4. Wipe down the defrosted fridge with a damp cloth. 5. Re-plug the fridge and set the temperature gauge to ‘Medium’.

ROOM CONDITION REPORTS (RCR) Along with this memo, you have received a Room Condition Report to be completed and returned to the front desk within 72 hours of your arrival. Failure to complete the report may result in damage charges being assessed at the end of the academic year for which you are not necessarily responsible. Students in double rooms will fill in and submit one report signed by both roommates. The completion and accuracy of

the RCR avoids any confusion next April, when another room inspection is conducted. If urgent repairs are needed, please indicate this on the RCR and place a work order with the Front Desk. In the event that you switch rooms or move to a different building, an inspection of your room will be done with you and your roommate at the time of your move.
