Welcome to our winter newsletter With 2016 well under way, we have lots of interesting news to share with you in the first edition of our newsletter for this year. We’ll be updating you on our recent projects and forthcoming events, and you’ll get to read excellent book reviews by our editorial team. Did you get the chance to attend any literary events at the end of last year? If you didn't, don’t worry; there are plenty coming up all around the UK so there’s bound to be one close to you. Case studies Report for Equality Now We were delighted to be commissioned by Equality Now, the charity that advocates for the human rights of women and girls around the world, to work on their report on the Prevalence

human rights of women and girls around the world, to work on their report on the Prevalence of FGM in England and Wales.  This was CPM’s first project for Equality Now. We worked on the design and print of the report as it was previously only available online.   Read more

Updated primary ELT series for Macmillan We’ve worked with Macmillan on numerous projects throughout the years. This time we contributed to an update of their successful six‐level primary English Language course. The updates involved adapting the existing material to a new design spec, including new fonts and different trim sizes for some of the books. Read more

Industry news & events Frances Hardinge wins Costa Book of the Year Award

Many congratulations to Frances Hardinge for winning the prestigious Costa Book of the Year Awards with The Lie Tree. The novel, which is the second children’s novel to win in the prize’s history, wowed the judges, who described it as a real 'page turner that would grip readers of all ages'. We can’t wait to read it!

Sarah Howe wins TS Eliot Prize with Loop of Jade

Loop of Jade is an intimate exploration of Howe’s journeys to Hong Kong to discover her roots. It was the first time a debut collection won the prize. Congratulations, Sarah!

Fahrenheit 451, by  Ray Bradbury

The Girl on the Train is a psychological thriller, with some critics categorising it further as a  'domestic noir'. To me, this term is a perfect description.

Fahrenheit 451 is regarded as one of Ray Bradbury’s best works. Written in 1953, at a time when the threat of book burning was present in America.
