Team Write up J3 Gold Jaguars had a tough task ahead of them this week with only 10 players on the field until into the second half. Despite this, they started out strong with great runs and passing up the field. Our GK, Kallen, did a fantastic job keeping out so many of those attempts on goal by Blue and it was unfortunate a couple got passed him. Having our 11 players on the field for the 2nd half made all the difference to the team and they managed to keep more ball possession. Kallen earned his Player of the Match award and Livinia worked hard for her Encouragement Award. Great game! Thanks J3 Blue!

Redlands Hockey first official season began in May 2008. It consisted of 100 members who came together at the Vienna Woods State School oval every Saturday to play hockey. There were 9 mixed teams overall. 1 x under 7s, 4 x Modies (8 to 11 years), 2 Junior teams (12 to 16 years) and 2 Seniors teams. We had 20 coaches and managers and we developed 6 junior umpires, which set us on the road to our umpire program. The first set of goals was donated by Clark Equipment Sales and the other sponsors that year were Just Hockey, Pizza Capers Cleveland (then owned by Matt and Mel Woosnam ); Clegg Media, Bayside Glass & Aluminium, Rob Watson Builders, Brisbane Skylights and Solatube, Lesside Air Conditioning, Fisher and Paykel (donated a fridge) and Sci Blue Security. Our canteen was run out of eskies, a few tables and a BBQ under a pergola. That year was the first ever year we sent teams away to represent RHA and we sent 4 teams (3 modies and 1 Under 7 team) and 2 umpires to the Under 9s Caboolture carnival for a fun filled day of 7-a side junior hockey. Prior to the season our kids were interviewed and televised on the Totally Wild TV show, if anyone has a copy please let me know.
