JUDGING Entries will close on 4th December 2016. Judging will take place on Wednesday 7th December 2016. Judges will assess each entry on the street on the basis of first impressions, creativity, use of colour, special effects and Christmas themes. The size of the display will not be a judging consideration.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Entry is FREE and only available to residents and community organisations within Manor Lakes. Entrants must be over the age of 18 as of 1st December 2016. All entrants agree to allow the organisers (Dennis Family Corporation) to publicise their name and address in the print and electronic media including flyers and promotional materials. The judge/s reserve the right to withhold the prize if there are insufficient entries in the category. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Judging of a residence will only apply to exterior displays, and will be assessed from the front of the property only. Times and dates of judging will be at the discretion of the judges. Public viewing is an important part of the competition. To allow as many people as possible to enjoy the displays, all entrants are requested to keep their Christmas lights on until 10pm. Displays may be a combination of Christmas lights and decorations. The misuse of electricity can cause injury or death. Entrants must not use any indoor lighting products outdoors and must comply with the safety instructions on all electrical products used. Electrical safety is paramount and must be exercised at all times. NB: Misuse of electricity could lead to your disqualification from the competition. Inspections by qualified electricians, at the entrant’s expense, to check the safety of the entrant’s display, are recommended. Householder insurance policies should be checked to ensure appropriate cover is available. Entrants are not to use the footpath, electricity poles or any property outside their boundary for any purpose of their display. Rental tenants should seek written permission from their landlords before considering their display. The security of all aspects of the display is the sole responsibility of the entrant. The organisers and sponsors accept no responsibility for damage, injury, theft which may occur as a result of your entry into this project. Charity collection boxes are strictly prohibited unless a letter of authority from a registered charity is obtained and prominently displayed. Charity for personal gain of the entrant are strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification from the competition. Failure to comply with the Terms and Conditions of Entry may lead to immediate cancellation of an entry and withdrawal of prizes. Prizes include 1st prize is $750, 2nd prize is $500 and 3rd prize is $250. For the group display prize, the Dennis Family Corporation will provide $1000 to the winning residents’ charity of choice as nominated on the entry form. Entry forms must be received no later than December 4th 2016.
