Windows Phone 8.1 The right choice for government Today, government agencies are tasked with striking a careful balance between productivity and security. On one hand, you want to provide workers with tools that support a mobile, productive workplace. But you also need to maintain high levels of security and control. Windows Phone 8.1 was designed to meet both objectives while also integrating seamlessly with existing Windows-based IT infrastructure. It’s a practical, mobile solution for budget-conscious managers.

Unparalleled Productivity

Uncompromising Security

Windows Phone 8.1 was designed to work seamlessly with the Microsoft Office tools that most government workers use every day. Along with Office tools built right in, Windows Phone 8.1 features an integrated Office hub which pulls together documents, spreadsheets and presentations from across the phone, OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint, and Office 365. Also included is Cortana, a personal assistant that can actually anticipate your needs and make business tasks easier.

Windows Phone 8.1 comes with a complete security platform, from a secure boot all the way to full data encryption using BitLocker. To better protect access to sensitive data, two-factor authentication and derived credentials are enabled via a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) onboard every Windows Phone 8.1 handset. Windows Phone 8.1 is also the only platform to support both S/MIME and Information Rights Management for better protection of sensitive email.

Device Diversity Windows Phone 8.1 runs on a wide range of handsets offering feature and pricing options to meet the specific needs of your agency. This includes full-featured devices with no-contract pricing below $100 USD; large 6” screen devices with high resolution cameras; and rugged handsets that withstand the torments of the field. No matter which device you choose, they all run the same Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and can be managed on an equally wide range of Mobile Device Management tools.
