Concluding Remarks from the Chair and Summit Close

ABOUT THE EVENT Construction, Infrastructure and Engineering is rapidly becoming New Zealand’s biggest boom sector, fuelling economic growth across the country. Investment in major projects is set to grow by $28 billion by 2025 and work forces are projected to expand at as much as twice the national job growth rate. Against this background of growth and opportunity, a number of work force challenges exist. Creating a diverse and inclusive work force is seen as a must for growth, with diversity being a key factor in unlocking innovation and the economic value of companies. Many progressive organisations recognise this and are working to address the key issues, however progress is slow. Women still make up as little as 17% of the workforce, and at senior leadership levels that figure drops significantly. Now is the time for existing and emerging women leaders to step up and take charge of their career, and take advantage of the new opportunities before them. The Women in Construction, Infrastructure & Engineering Leadership Summit brings together a some of New Zealand’s most experienced leaders to share their experience and offer practical advice. This oneof-a-kind program brings together inspirational case studies, practical workshops, expert commentary sessions and interactive panels to unlock the skills, strategies and confidence for you to step up and own your unique leadership journey.
