T

he Data Centre’s workshop programme commenced in 2009 with, to date, over 2,200 individuals having been trained across a wide range of disciplines; from beginner through to advanced levels and from volunteer recorders to professional ecologists. We acknowledge the ongoing support and sponsorship from partners who have contributed, year after year, to the success of this important programme, in particular the Botanical Society of the British Isles; the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs; Dublin City Council; the Heritage Council; Irish Peatland Conservation Council; National Botanic Gardens and Wexford Naturalist Field Club.

Council has allowed fees to be kept to a minimum since the programme’s inception in 2009: ¤20 for standard workshops and ¤50 for those tailored to the professional ecologist.

Funding from the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and the Heritage
