Dr. Mohamed El-Newehy

Introduction

Electrospinning is a simple and effective technique used in the fabrication of nanofibers, which in turn is characterized by the diversity of its applications in various fields of biomedical, energy, water treatment, ... etc. This workshop will provide the principles of electrospinning technique as well as large scale production of electrospun nanofibers and reviewing their applications in various fields. This workshop will include both lectures and practical course.

Workshop Objectives

1. To provide basic introduction of electrospinning technology as a novel and new area in Saudi Arabia. 2. To introduce the latest scientific and applied topics in the field of electrospinning. 3. To develop and increase the level of research in the field of electrospinning and transfer technology especially for young researchers in the Kingdom. 4. To attain closer relationship between the university and industry.

Workshop Outlines

1. Introduction to Electrospinning technique. 2. Factors affecting the preparation of nanofibers using electrospinning technique. 3. Nanofibers made from polymers and metal oxides. 4. Large scale production of the electrospun nanofibers 5. Different applications of nanofibers.
