In November 2016 SEGD participated in a Design Census with Google, AIGA, IDSA and IxDA. 78 Designers completed the survey identifying themselves as Environmental Graphic Designers. This means we have a result that is 95% accurate with a +/- 5 point spread (margin of error) positive and negative. If a certain answer showed that 45% chose that option, then we can say with 95% accuracy that if the full membership had answered that question, between 40-50% would have chosen that answer. We will reissue the survey in March in order to gain a greater accuracy, but for now this is the most upto-date information we have on the profession.
