Something for you whether you are relatively new to yoga or experienced, with the usual emphasis on the deep healing that traditional yoga can bring. Very often within the weekly yoga class, we have a limited opportunity to explore the many facets of yoga. Chinmayi's evolved style takes a holistic approach involving practices for the mind and soul also. Women's Healing Retreat - day visitors welcome! How about a 4-day retreat with like-minded women in the UK? Perhaps you don’t want to fly, can’t take a week away from home or prefer the English weather! This year Chinmayi has teamed up with her great friend Suzanne to offer you a women’s retreat in May, at her home in Kent. Maybe you have something personal to you that you are working through at the moment. Perhaps you feel a little isolated sometimes and could use some female energy to boost your feminine power. Our female ancestors would have spent many hours together, telling stories and passing on skills to their daughters and granddaughters. This kind of teaching, learning and support is incredibly healing. It gives us a new perspective on life, tools to live a more fulfilling life and the personal power to live an extraordinary life. Chinmayi has studied, practised and taught ancient healing techniques for over a decade. She has travelled far and wide with the aim of finding the source. With advanced qualifications in traditional yoga and shamanic healing, she is able to offer you something for your physical, mindful and spiritual growth and transformation. There will be group sessions throughout the day, learning new techniques which will enrich your life with renewed energy and enthusiasm. But also plenty of time for you to relax and reflect, take a nap or walk, or do some journaling or colouring. There will be space for private treatments and/or healing with Chinmayi. She is qualified in 24 different holistic treatments and traditional healing therapies! Depending on your needs, you’ll probably get a combination of two or more of them. What to Expect at the Women's Holistic Health Retreat Passionate about holistic health but with an influence on balance and having fun living it, Chinmayi has so much to share! Expect a daily yoga practice, meditation coaching and practice, learning some basic massage techniques, card readings, learning about nature’s medicines - essential oils, flower remedies, crystals and other elements, Emotional Freedom Technique and so much more

This is a small gathering of a maximum of 8 women at Suzanne’s beautiful home. Once a working mill, the house is over 400 years old. Its proximity to the river makes it a perfect setting for a women’s retreat.

Accommodation is in a double or twin room (sharing). Like all Chinmayi’s retreats, food is supremely healthy, mostly vegan and as much as possible organic. Please read the page “Food Facts”.

Just want to chill? This year Chinmayi is offering a yoga holiday where the focus is on relaxation and rejuvenation. Perhaps you just need some time out from the daily grind. You need healthful food and maybe a glass of wine with your dinner. You're not here to detox but to unwind, holiday-style. Your biggest decision is whether to swim in the pool or take shade under a parasol.

Yoga and Meditation Yoga is offered in the morning and a stretch and relaxation or meditation late afternoon. Everything is optional. Plenty of time is available for absolutely nothing! You can read, colour, paint, watch a movie or just lie in the sun all day. It's totally up to you!

Other Options A huge range of treatments and healing will be available. You may like a relaxing massage or holistic facial. Or perhaps a card reading or spiritual healing. Included in the price of your holiday is a 20-minute private consultation. If you wish to explore the area, guided walks will be offered and transport can be arranged to Montefrio, the site of Spain's only round church and also voted by National Geographic magazine as one of the ten villages with the best views in the world.

Yoga Ashram Retreat Truly a retreat from normal life where you can immerse yourself into traditional yoga. Different to a yoga holiday, this will deepen your practice and allow you to evolve your yoga into everyday life. Chinmayi has spend a considerable amount of time in ashrams and has found the perfect place to host this style of retreat in 2017. The Location Casa de Rufo is located on the edge of a small town at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the highest in Spain. It’s under half an hour from Granada airport to which Easyjet now fly from Gatwick. We offer a pick-up and drop-off from Granada airport late morning or Granada bus station early afternoon. See below for more information. During your afternoon siesta break, you can take a short bus ride to the centre of Granada. While meandering through the Albayzin with its street markets and tea shops, you might feel like you were in Rishikesh itself! However unlike India, Spain is under 3hrs from most UK airports. No visas, no jabs and you can drink the water!

What to Expect at a Yoga Ashram Retreat True self-development and growth happens when we let go. In this retreat, Chinmayi will show you how you can detox your mind, body and soul easily. Food will be almost all vegan (ahimsa) and where possible organic. There will be some periods of silence (mouna) to create a space where you can reflect without distraction. This is a powerful aspect of ashram life. Shamanic healing and other therapies will be offered to help you on your soul’s path. The week will be carefully crafted with practices where you can experience HUGE shifts in your life. The yoga practice includes all aspects of the yoga journey, including ecstatic chant, fire puja and some light cleansing techniques. By choosing this retreat you have the intention of attending all classes.

Of course, we will also have a lot of fun and laughter. This is not a luxury holiday. It is designed to reflect the simplicity of ashram life. However the accommodation is spotlessly clean and the food is as healthy, nutritious and plentiful as ever. Although run as an ashram-style retreat, Casa de Rufo has the benefit of a large swimming pool - perfect for a dip after your practices! There are some house rules around screens (mobile phones etc), drugs (smoking, alcohol, coffee, sugar etc) processed food and meat. We ask that you respect your space and the space you share with others. You need to be able to switch off from your life at home to gain the maximum benefits.

What is a Yoga Retreat or Holiday?

Obviously you get to practice lots of yoga! According to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, yoga also includes, meditation, concentration and practices for living with yourself and others harmoniously. Some simple house rules make everyone’s retreat a blissful experience.

Please avoid:1. Using your mobile phone inside the houses or having your mobile phone with you in practice time. Bring a camera for photos please. 2. Smoking in or around the house. Please dispose of your cigarette butts very carefully with water provided. Fires can be started easily here. 3. Drinking alcohol in the accommodation. Be mindful, that sometimes our guests have issues with alcohol and other substances and just need somewhere to be away from them for a week. If this might be a challenge for you, please let me know. 4. Being late for classes. It is in your interest to be there from the start, to centre yourself, set your intention for the session and to give your body a chance to warm up and loosen. It is also distracting for other students ‘in the zone’ when people arrive late.

A Typical Day Schedule 0630 – 0830 Meditation & Yoga 0830 – 0900 Breakfast 0930 – 1030 Morning Activity 1030 – 1230 Free time 1230 – 1330 Lunch 1330 – 1630 Free time 1630 – 1800 Meditation / Yoga 1800 – 1900 Supper 1900 – 2000 Satsang 2000 – 2100 Free time You will also have the opportunity for a healing massage or therapy. As well as yoga teaching, Chinmayi is qualified in over twenty different practices. Everything from Shamanic Healing Therapies to Tarot Readings and Reflexology to Indian Head Massage! Treatments are just €30 for half an hour or €50 for an hour to be paid as you go in local currency please. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Physical Challenges and staying safe ChinmayiMAGIC!

You will be asked to complete a Health Form and Disclosure. Please complete the forms fully and completely, advising of all health challenges including medications taken, and recent operations. A reasonable level of mobility is required to walk comfortably. Unfortunately that the area and accommodation are not suitable for wheelchairs. The yoga teaching is suitable for all abilities in Hatha Yoga but is not appropriate for total beginners. You are strongly advised to hold Travel Insurance to cover delays, cancellations and losses and other matters outside our control. We recommend as a minimum, you obtain a European Health Insurance Card. This latter is free online www.nhs.uk and covers any medical treatment you may need. We do hold a basic first aid certificate and kit.

Food Facts The food provided on our retreats is fresh, lactovegetarian, wholesome and healthy. It includes fruit and vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, local virgin olive oil, coconut oil, a small amount of wheat, some optional dairy and eggs. It does not include fish or meat, processed foods, refried or refined oils or sugar. We provide organic or local farm produce wherever possible. We are very happy to accommodate vegan preferences and provide alternatives to wheat or other main allergens with prior knowledge. Please be honest with yourself and with us in advance. If you feel you need to bring special foods to accommodate your diet, please let us know. Alcohol, drugs (except prescribed medicines) and meat are not to be brought into the accommodation.

What to Bring Nearly always you can get away with carry-on luggage only

A small Rucksack for walking - this could be your personal baggage item, check the measurements Euros - for an excursion and treatments if you like Yoga Mat - thinner one is better so you can fold it. Yoga Clothes - cool and lightweight. Light colours reflect the sun. Shorts and vests are ok. One set of cool clothe e.g. shorts, shirts and skirts etc. A light long-sleeved pale-coloured top for walking A wide-brimmed hat and sun glasses A body-size light Sarong - for relaxation outside and can be used as a towel for swimming Water bottle - reusable or recyclable Swimsuit and towel - please don't use the towels at the house Walking sandals, shoes, trainers or boots with socks Flip flops (not suitable for walking) but ideal for pool and in the house Plenty of smiles and a willingness to just be yourself!
