Race 1 - 1:50pm. THE SKY BET AND SYMPHONY GROUP STRENSALL STAKES (CLASS 1) (Group 3)

An enquiry was held to consider interference in the final furlong when MUSTASHRY, placed second, ridden by Jim Crowley interfered with THREADING (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. The interference was found to be accidental as MUSTASHRY had changed leads when crossing the path, and

shifted to its left onto THREADING (IRE), before being quickly corrected. Following the race, Frankie Dettori reported that ZAAKI, unplaced, missed the break. Ed Dunlop was fined £650 for doubly declaring GLOBAL GIANT to run in the Sky Bet Handicap (Class 2) at York and the Dom & Geri Personalised Banners Winter Hill Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) at Windsor, and the colt ran in the latter. Prior to this race, an enquiry was held with Jason Ward, the trainer of KING’S PAVILION (IRE), into the reasons why he was running the gelding here at York on going officially described as Good to Firm, having been declared a non-runner at Goodwood on 4 August 2018, and Haydock on 11 August 2018 on going also officially described as Good to Firm. The trainer stated that he felt that the going on both previous occasions was quicker than described and with the going at York changing from Good to Firm, Good in Places this morning, he was happy for KING’S PAVILION (IRE) to take its chance today. The Starter reported COMMUNIQUE (IRE) was the subject of a third criteria failure. Mark Johnston’s representative was informed that the colt could not run until the day after passing a stalls test. As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that COMMUNIQUE (IRE) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the colt would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months. Following the race, Jamie Spencer reported that SOCIETY RED, unplaced, stopped quickly. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding revealed it was lame right fore and had a slight skin injury to its hocks. Race 7 - 5:20pm. THE SKY BET APPRENTICE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2)

Permission was given for MAIN DESIRE to wear a hood in the parade ring.
