The City College Department of Public Safety provides an escort service outside of normal school hours. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to make sure you feel safe.

Degree Options Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture Accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) – the only US agency authorized to accredit professional degree programs in architecture.

Approaching its 50th anniversary, The Spitzer School of Architecture is the only public school of architecture in New York City. Taught by faculty who work in New York City as architects, critics, and scholars, undergraduate and graduate programs have a strong emphasis on the urban environment. Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership Named after alumnus General Colin L. Powell, former United States Secretary of State. His commitment to democracy and freedom has changed our world.

The School builds on its exceptionally strong tradition in the social sciences to provide students with a living laboratory in which to study and conduct research in their chosen fields. As a student at the School you will examine why individuals, groups, governments, institutions, and tribes do what they do, and use your knowledge to further powerful, positive change. The School secured over 200 internship placements for students in 2015 at a variety of corporate, government, and non-profit organizations in New York City and Washington, DC. College of Liberal Arts and Science – Division of Science The Division of Science at City College has a proud legacy and a proud future – nine Nobel Prize winners studied here.

As an undergraduate or graduate student in the Division of Science, you’ll have the opportunity to work in labs with distinguished professors who are conducting research on everything from climate change to structural biology and sustainable energy. World-renowned physicists such as Myriam Sarachik, and well-known author Michio Kaku also teach here. Transfer admission is based on a student’s overall grade point average (G.P.A.), including courses taken at all institutions attended since graduating high school. Admission criteria vary by school as follows: COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE AND SCHOOL OF EDUCATION 1. CUNY Community College graduates. 2. All others must meet one of the following criteria: a. less than 24 credits earned at 2.50 G.P.A. and meet current requirements used for freshman admission; or b. 24 or more credits earned at a 2.5 G.P.A.; or c. 0 credits earned and meet current requirements for freshman admission. Applicants who have a grade point average below 2.0 but have not attended college for at least five years may be admissible to the College of Liberal Arts and Science. SPITZER SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE: Transfer admission to the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture is highly selective and is based on a student’s overall grade point average (G. P. A.) and a supplemental creative challenge available from the City College Office of Admissions website (ccny.cuny.edu). The Spitzer School of Architecture admits a limited number of transfer students. GROVE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING: Transfer applicants to the Grove School of Engineering are required to present a G.P.A. of at least 2.7 and two semesters of calculus (equivalent to Math 201 and 202 at City College) with a grade of “C” or higher and one semester of physics (equivalent to Physics 207 at City College) with a grade of “C” or better. The applicants must demonstrate proficiency in math and science.
