YOUR YEARLY SELF-EVALUATION The exercises in this workbook are to enable you to gain some clarity on your progress, organize your dreams and make a plan on reaching your goals. Whilst it is better to have completed it during the last month of 2016, to usher in the year 2017, it can be done at anytime. It is most important that you have a selfevaluation of your life periodically. You may need to spend an hour or two on this. Try to find a quiet moment and place because you are dealing with the foundation of your economic, relationship and business life. Print it out and fill it in! – Laila St. Matthew-Daniel I normally use the Wheel of Life with the 12 components of the Basic Needs of a human being when dealing with clarity coaching, but this evaluation will only deal with 5 critical components, (Business, Financial, Personal Relationships, Health/Fitness & Self Mastery) Now, it’s time to complete the sections below. Reflect on the year that has just passed. It is not always enjoyable to look back and evaluate, but it is a necessary step towards growth and accountability. Dream about what life could be 3 years from today! Allow yourself to dream and reflect on what you most want in your life as you do this section. On the following 6 pages fill in all the biggest dreams that you have for yourself! After dreams are actually written down, they can be considered goals! Here are some guidelines: • Visualize and write your intentions in the present tense — as if you already have achieved what you want. “I earn x naira/dollars” rather than “I will earn x naira/dollars” • Write down the first thing that comes into your mind without judging it. Follow your heart. • Use short, bullet points rather than narrative. Easier on the eyes. • The pages are blank to encourage you to write all over them rather than using a linear format. • Use a variety of colors. Write BIG and small. Write on an angle, in an arc or even upside-down. Which ever makes you feel easy. • Use plenty of drawings and graphics. Do everything possible to engage your creative right brain in this process. • Be as clear and specific as possible. The more specific your intentions, the easier it is for your unconscious mind to work towards creating them. For example, rather than setting an intention to be “fit and trim”, set specific and measurable weight, cardio and fitness targets. • Think big. Intentions are like magnets — the bigger they are, the more they pull you forward. • Describe what you want, give your mind something specific to move towards. • Don’t worry if you are not clear. Capture the thoughts you have even if they are vague. Some of your intentions may even seem to be in conflict with each other. These are intentions, not rigid commitments. You can go back and change them any time.
