What this document is

This document was a call for proposals inviting bids to redesign the website of NARST, the National Association for Research in Science Teaching, an international professional association for science education researchers. At the time the call was issued it was hosted on Sites at Penn State, Pennsylvania State University's institutional blogging and web-hosting platform, which NARST or one of its committees used rather than a standalone domain.

Calls of this kind are short-lived by design: once a redesign contract is awarded and the new site goes live, there is generally no reason for an organisation to keep the original request for proposals online, and NARST's current website reflects at least one redesign carried out since. NARST's current site organises the association's activities around its leadership, standing committees, research interest groups, and its annual conference program.

NARST's website today is hosted at its own narst.org domain rather than on Penn State's platform, and the association's current governance and mission documents are published there.
