What this document is
Matrix Display is a feature MSI built into the graphics drivers of several of its gaming notebooks, letting a single laptop drive more than one external monitor at once. MSI's support article explains the two ways it can be used: a multi-display mode, where each connected screen shows its own separate desktop, and a surround view mode, where several monitors are treated as one continuous, larger display.
Setting it up involves updating both the integrated Intel graphics driver and the discrete Nvidia driver to current versions, then configuring the displays from the Nvidia Control Panel and the Intel Graphics Control Panel. On the Intel side, the relevant option is labeled Collage, which stitches the connected screens into a single desktop once applied.
The feature was aimed at models such as the GS60, GS70, GE60 and GE70 notebooks running Windows 8.x, a period when MSI marketed multi-monitor gaming setups as a differentiator against rival laptop brands.
