How much will my course cost? We know that the cost of courses and confusion about the different discounts available can be a real problem when deciding whether to enrol on the course that you have chosen. The cost of your course can be affected by a wide range of factors including:
You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan if:
• Your age • Whether you claim benefits • Your existing qualifications • Government policy
• You are aged 24 or above at the start of your course • You are studying for an approved Level 3 or Level 4 course (look for the J symbol to see which courses are approved) • You are a UK resident and have been for at least three years • You have not previously had a loan to do the same type and level of qualification
With so many factors to take into account it can be difficult to work out how much you will have to pay. We have used a code system throughout our course guide to make it easier for you to see which courses qualify for the different types of discounts and concessions.
Aged 16 – 18? If you are aged 16-18 years you do not pay any course fees. However, if you are in full time education – either at school or college – you are not eligible to study a part time course at the same time.
Aged 24 or over?
Please note that courses marked with the J are not eligible for any concession rates if you are aged 24 or over at the time of enrolment. Early bird discounts are not applicable if course fees are being funded by an Advanced Learning Loan.
Other adults aged 19 or over Study for Free
If you are aged 24 or over and thinking of studying a Level 3 or Level 4 course, you may be entitled to an Advanced Learning Loan to help pay your tuition costs.
If you are aged 19 or over, in receipt of any benefits and unemployed, your course could be free of charge if it could help you to find work.
These loans are not means-tested and are offered regardless of your current employment status. They cover the cost of your course and you don’t have to repay the loan until you are earning over £21,000 per year.
A self declaration form must be completed to qualify. Look out for the v to see which courses qualify for this concession.
Aged 19-23 and looking to study a Level 2 or Level 3 course? If you are aged 19-23 at the start of your course and do not already have a full Level 2 or full Level 3 qualification then you may not have to pay any fees. Some Level 1 courses are also covered by this concession if they are step up courses to specific Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
@treshamcollege
/treshamcollege
Look for the n symbol to see which courses qualify for this concession. If you are aged 19-23 and neither of the above categories apply then you may still qualify for a 50% discount on your course fees. Look out for the ✢ to identify which courses qualify for this discount.
Spread the cost with interest free monthly payments
If you are taking a course lasting more than six months we can arrange for you to pay your fees in equal instalments by monthly standing order. An administration fee of £15 is charged for this service and full payment must be made one month before the scheduled end date of the course. Full terms and conditions will be supplied when you enrol. Look out for the l symbol to see which courses qualify for this facility.
10% Early Booking Discount
It helps us to know early on how many people want to book onto our courses, so we offer an incentive discount of 10% off your fees if you enrol onto qualifying courses before noon on Saturday 4th July. Please note that course fees must be paid in full (ie not by standing order) to claim this discount. Look out for the t symbol to see which courses qualify. If you have any questions about any of these payment schemes and concessions then please give our Customer Services Team a call on 0345 658 8990 and they will be happy to help you.

How do I enrol? Great! You’ve decided to take a positive step in improving your skills and qualifications. We aim to make the application process as easy as possible, and will give you support and guidance throughout your journey with the college. Step 1: Choose your course
Take a look through our course guide to see our range of courses, or pop along to one of our campuses if you would prefer to talk through your options first. Some courses may require a discussion to check that it is the right course for you at the right level. This will either be completed over the telephone or at one of the enrolment sessions.
Step 2: Enrolment
Once you have made your choice you can enrol and pay for your course in two ways:
By phone
You can enrol by phone if you wish to pay by debit or credit card and are not claiming any concessions on your course fees. Contact our Customer Services Team on 0345 658 8990 who will be happy to help you.

Chipo Marindire Level 2 Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) I have completed a number of part time courses at Tresham, including literacy and numeracy qualifications and a Bookkeeping level 1 certificate. The course I am doing currently, combined with my Bookkeeping qualification, will greatly improve my employment opportunities within the accounting sector. I have four children, so being able to study part time locally has been ideal for fitting around a busy family schedule. My tutor has been very Venue Key: COR: Oakley Road Campus, Corby WOR: Student’s own workplace
helpful throughout the course and has always been available to offer guidance and advice via email or over the phone during times when I am not in college. There is a good mix of people on the course and I have really enjoyed studying at the Corby campus. I hope to continue to study further part time courses and I am already thinking about enrolling onto the level 3 AAT course.

Sue Malone CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Practice development training to peers. It was quite daunting but a worthwhile experience.
After working in the legal sector for over 25 years, I decided on a change of career path into the field of human resources. I am really enjoying my new role and I am keen to progress my career.

The one year course at Tresham has been great. We have two tutors that have very different teaching styles, so this helps keep the course content interesting and engaging. One of the most challenging parts of the course was devising and carrying out our own practical training scenario within the group. This gave us an idea of what is involved in delivering professional
Because the course only requires attendance at college one evening a week, I am able to fit my work and family commitments around my study. I have also been very fortunate that my employer, Cambridge Weight Plan, have fully funded my course and recognise the value it will bring to the company. I am looking forward to progressing my career and perhaps taking on a degree in this area sometime in the future.

Fiona Crook Level 3 Counselling Having previously completed the level 2 qualification in counselling at Tresham, I was enthusiastic to progress onto the level 3 course. I have volunteered as a counsellor at Cruse Bereavement Care for 7 years, and am keen to develop my skills further so that I can continue this line of work and also explore voluntary opportunities in other areas of counselling.
Venue Key: COR: Oakley Road Campus, Corby WOR: Student’s own workplace
The course has really helped broaden my wider knowledge of counselling and, at this stage in my life, I have been so surprised at the great strides I have made in self-awareness and confidence. I have received expert guidance from my tutor throughout the course, and the group has been managed in a way that we are able to support and trust each other. As well as expanding my involvement in voluntary work, I am also considering working towards the diploma in counselling.

Kerry Ginn Level 2 Diploma Hairdressing
Health and Safety
I have been working in a salon for five months and am keen to develop my skills further. I come into college for two evenings a week and find it’s a good balance between my studies
and work, and I am able to progress at my own pace. The tutors and other students are really welcoming, so I have been able to make new friends along the way.
